Immigration dominates campaign ads in New York special election
CNN ^ | 2/13/24 | David Wright

People, mostly newly arrived migrants, receive an afternoon meal from Trinity Services and Food For the Homeless, across from Tompkins Square Park on January 24, in New York City.

Ad spending for the special election for New York's 3rd Congressional District has totaled more than $21 million as both parties have poured millions into the high-stakes race to succeed former Republican Rep. George Santos. Immigration has been the top issue on the airwaves, as campaigns and outside groups from both parties have produced a total of 14 unique TV ads about the topic and spent $12.4 million airing them, according to AdImpact data. Over the course of the race, all nine ads from Republican nominee Mazi Pilip and her allies have been about immigration. Congressional Leadership Fund, the lead GOP super PAC, has spent nearly $2.7 million airing an ad that claims the Democratic nominee, former Rep. Tom Suozzi, “rolled out the red carpet for illegal immigrants.”

Photo of illegals eating.
There is not an unending supply of charity money.

The actual, true American homeless are getting competition from the foreign mooches. There will probably be anti-immigrant riots if the political system fails. It happened many times in history.

A few arrivals at a time might work but that was not the Left’s plan. Chaos and breakdown of the system is their objective, using people as pawns.

The funding is being taken away from people who are going to be angry.

As of 8pm, only 55,000 of the 161,000 Republicans in the district voted.
I blame the nonvoting Republicans if we lose.

Santos lost the Queens portion by only 1%, Pilip is losing by 25%. It looks hopeless. I guess people aren’t that upset about the migrants after all.

Its an utter joke- they get what they deserve.

Ironic as:

1) Queens gave that hag Hochul a slim majority compared to the other boroughs (except Staten Island)

2) the majority of Queens is black and minority (not sure how much of the portion of this district is) and have been destroyed by the illegals (had to keep their kids home from school cause they needed to house the illegals)

How dirty are the Queens ballots? The borough has been Democrat dominated for many decades. Back in 1976, the Democratic bosses in Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Queens pumped several hundred thousand votes after midnight, tipping New York and the Electoral College to Jimmy Carter. And this is before the Democratic Party went full bore Communist.

Sometimes they just run a better campaign with a better candidate.
Pilip has a heavy accent. My mother listened to her being interviewed and she couldn’t follow what she was saying.

That's unlikely to happen. The GOP candidate is already getting thoroughly clobbered.

Good thing we tossed Santos to the curb.

The Democrats never boot any of their criminals or terrorist sympathizers.

They don't call us the "stupid party" for nothing. How long now before Hakeem Jeffries is the speaker?

There was no primary because this was a special election. Mazzi was picked by the Nassau County party establishment.

Compare that to when Santos won a primary and was picked by the voters. He was unabashedly pro Trump and pro MAGA. He won by 8 points!

Mazzi was advised by the establishment to hide any support she had for Trump.

This is what happens when you are afraid to run as common sense, MAGA.
