I’m betting he will simply resign....actually he probably was told to resign by Obama’s lawyers.

>Though Mayorkis will not be gone, he’s at least labeled for the traitor he is.<

Most Ds are seen as traitors, yet they keep climbing the mountain with ease.

Well, of course the Senate is not going to convict him. But he will forever be known as the “impeached DHS Secretary.”

Ken Buck, Mike Gallagher and Tom McClintock — the same three GOP traitors who opposed a previous attempt to impeachment Mayorkas last week — kept their opposition.

The thing about going after the low-hanging fruit first is that that fruit may flip on the higher-ups. The top generally collapses if the bottom falls.

Ok, now what?

How are we going to get 2/3 of Senate to vote to remove him?

> Ok…. Now it goes to the Senate to die. It’s a waste of time & money. Nothing will change. Does anyone disagree?

Yes I respectfully disagree.

We all know the Senate won't convict, but they are Constitutionally required to have a trial, which means less time for Schmucky and McConnell to plot against and attack America before the general election.

It's like "The Great Escape" and the Senate are the Germans ...

>>”The data is there. All the trial will provide is a spotlight for how bad the border is…. And then nothing.”

And yet, that’s something. We have 9 months to turn the election into a route. The Democrats are doing a pretty good job of self-destruction as it is. What the GOP needs to do is stay on offense all the way until election day.

Trump is usually good on his word. But Biden will et in a million or more in the next 11 months., Probably too late to do anything and getting rid of this guy would do nothing.

“It is a movie show, but I do believe, and correct me if I’m wrong, that once the house impeach is, the Senate must hold a trial. If I’m correct then the Senate gets tied up with the trial and for this particular Senate it is needed.”

The Senate’s rules are here: https://www.senate.gov/artandhistory/history/resources/pdf/3_1986SenatesImpeachmentRules.pdf

Note Section XI, under which the Senate can direct a committee to hear the evidence and report. In this instance, everyone knows that there won’t be two-thirds (won’t even be a majority) to remove Mayorkas, so this committee option will be attractive. The committee will hold such “trial” as there is. Some Republican witnesses will denounce Mayorkas. The Democrats will point out, repeatedly, that the Republicans scuttled the Senate bill that would have appropriated additional money that Mayorkas needed for border control. When everyone is through venting their predetermined talking points, the committee will issue a report recommending against conviction (all the Dems, who are in the majority on the committee, plus maybe a RINO or two). Then the Senate trial will be ten minutes for the House impeachment managers to make their arguments, ten minutes for the opposition, and a quick vote.

The only close question will be how many RINOs vote with the unanimous Democratic caucus to acquit. I’ll put the Over/Under on that one at ten.

Well, you sound just like a Democrat mayor or DA who supports no arrests, no required bail, and no prosecutions. Says a lot.

Ooh firing the big guns I see. nice exaggeration but no prize. You sound like someone without any substance. Maybe try dealing with substance and results instead of window dressing. Then I'll help you figure more out after that. Clue 1. Person A sets a policy. Person B, a subordinate implements it. You fire B and let the policy continue and A stay on the job. In 100 words or less explain why that makes any sense and how it will stop the negative practice.,I'll wait for a real answer if you can think of one.

Not bad for a democrat mayor eh?
