Could any of us, off hand, know what is going on in the Horn of Africa? I am sure, President Trump was as ignorant as any of us about the situation. I am sure that once President Trump learned about that area of the world, he would have appreciated Major Michael Haley’s deployment there. President Trump may have even given his appreciation to Cindy McCain who heads the World Food Programme (WFP) that is providing critical relief there.

Michael Haley will be deployed as a staff officer with his unit, which will be at “the core of” a task force that supports the U.S. Africa Command, Evans said, “replacing a unit from a different state as part of a regular rotation of forces.”

It will be Michael Haley’s second active-duty deployment since he joined the Guard as an officer in 2006.

His first deployment was in 2013 to Afghanistan.

Color me unimpressed.
