A cognitive test should be given at an annual physical for people over 70. At first it is used to establish a baseline.
This is not a slam at anyone over 70, but interventional medications are much more effective when decline is in its early stages. Nothing is going to stop it..but some can slow the progression.
It SHOULD be part of every person’s annual check up.
They gave me a cognitive test at my last annual check-up, and I was only 68 at the time. It was pretty simple, give you a set of words to remember while talking about other things, set the hands on a clock for a particular time, simple math questions (8*4 and what is 20% of 100) and some other simple little things.................
