He has over $4 million in his campaign account as of the end of December. Only 2 GOP incumbents who are running again this year have more — Steve Scalise & Jim Jordan — and as part of the leadership (such as it is) are probably expected to use some of their largesse to support other candidates (?). Gallagher’s dough is all his to keep.
Gallagher quickly went from potential Senate candidate (chickened out, but raised money off the rumor), to a shoo-in for re-election, to a traitorous coward who now sees that he’d get destroyed in the primary.
Somebody’s got something big on him, for sure.

I remember once reading about Congressional retirements for Senators and Representatives. IIRC, all it took for a Representative to qualify for some sort of pension/retirement income was to serve three terms - 6 years. Since he took office in 2017, I’m guess he’s hit his mark and can now go home with a nice little lifetime bonus......
