Absolutely not. The border should be secure, have a good wall/barrier/ whatever works best for its whole length. The border patrol should stop illegal border crossers. Any who manage to cross should be arrested and prosecuted, or expelled promptly. There should be no more than, say, 10,000 political refugees admitted per year. Very few people can make that case. And these people should stay in Mexico (the legit ones usually apply from US embassies abroad) and apply for asylum from there.
Maybe you should hire a few more border guards and finish Trumps wall.

That was the proper and reasonable way to defend your nation, in this case.
You seem to want the Army to park their armored brigades on the banks of the Rio Grande and machine gun anyone showing their faces on the Mexican side. Call bombardments and airstrikes whenever there are more than 2-3 together, maybe.

What I think is that you are so angry that you want to bite anyone, even people that agree with you.
Well, its paramilitary. The Guardia Civil is a gendarmerie, a national police force, that can be militarized in case of war.
The Guardia Civil also form the national highway patrol, the forestry police, etc. And they are the default police in small towns and rural areas, that don’t have municipal police. The US doesn’t have anything like that, but its quite a common system around the world.
So why can’t we have a military or guard our border without the likes of you going into effete sniffery over it?
Its a fact. You seem to blow up when opposed or contradicted in any way. This is sub-optimal, to say the least.
We don’t have anything like that because the system we had as built was better.
But then came people who “knew better” who decided to militarize the police.
Then they whined about it.
So then they wanted to defund the police while making certain crimes defacto legal.
And then whined about the uptick in crime.

You can do what you like. My points were that -
- The US Armed Forces are designed and intended for FOREIGN wars, and those wars are assumed to be at least an ocean away. Concede this point, you have no way to maintain your position. A glance at what you actually have (heck, check Wiki on the structure of the USN, USAF, the Army, its accurate enough) makes the case perfectly well.
- The border is best guarded by a border patrol and a sufficient barrier system. Not actual military forces. As long as the executive tells the border guards to do their jobs, that is. THAT is your current problem.

This is bad, it represents an inability to reason in good faith with others, and find solutions. This is a serious weakness. I have no idea what your life has been like, but I suspect you have had significant problems.
This may be explained by your emotional nature.
I have run into this sort of thing at various points, and they are grounds (best case) to not hire. I have interviewed hundreds of people, and this is definitely worth looking into. Worst case is it becomes a professional liability, then it gets seriously messy. I am speaking of engineering, but it applies in every sphere of life.

They were perfectly happy saying they were much better than the average bear. And were often quite annoying that way.
Not a genetic super-breed, and note I said no such thing about myself. Whatever way I am better than you, it is a matter of normal variation and, most likely, the circumstances of life.
However, I am 5/8ths Basque, and we are an odd lot, with significant physiological differences vis-a-vis European and Euro-descended populations. That doesnt make us supermen, as we dont have the IQ data to conclude anything. It certainly isnt likely to challenge Jewish and Chinese superiority.
As for the Nazis and similar, they rarely claimed to be smarter than everyone. Strange but true. There was enough population IQ data out by then to show that Jews were on average, objectively, smarter. The Nazi claims were rather more mystical and aesthetic than that.

Someone who truly is superior doesn’t have to say they are, and doesn’t need people agreeing with them on it.
It’s a bitter pill for most to come to that realization.

Superiority/inferiority is absolutely true, in a general and specific sense, and normal among human beings. And among animals too. Its why we filter people for jobs and careers. Its why athletes arent equal. Its why there are winners and losers in life.
Some of you characters are just queasy about the concept.
