Squatters take over 1,200 homes in Atlanta, open illegal strip clubs and terrorize neighbors: ‘is this even America?’

Squatters are ruining entire neighborhoods in Atlanta and police response to evict is so slow, some homeowners have resorted to paying nuisances to leave.

Brazen squatters even opened an illegal strip club on a property they had taken over — one of the 1,200 homes which has been squatted in the city according to the National Rental Home Council (NRHC) trade group.

“I’d be terrified in Atlanta to lease out one of my properties,” Matt Urbanski, who manages a local home-cleaning company, told Bloomberg.

Urbanski’s company cleans out homes for corporate landlords, and in some cases has to remove squatter’s possessions.

Recently one of his employees was shot after attempting to remove intruders from a property.

Simon Frost, CEO of large-scale landlord Tiber Capital Group, said there have been incidents of unlawful occupants brandishing weapons and threatening neighbors which affects the safety of neighborhoods and other residents, according to Bloomberg.

Evicting squatters in Atlanta is tough, involving negotiating court backlogs and strained police resources.

Meanwhile, online listings and virtual real estate agents make it easy for squatters to identify vacant properties to break into.

We had exactly ONE experience being landlords. We were in an investment group with six others and had to take back a rental house that had gone to foreclosure on the first (we held the second). We brought the first current, cleaned up the place and got a tenant. He paid a couple of months and then because a squatter. In Santa Cruz County, CA, the tenants have ALL the rights. It took us six months to get the sheriff to evict him; not long before the sheriff showed up, he skedaddled. It took us a couple months to clean up the messes he left behind and replace all the fixtures he had stolen.

Thank God it didn’t turn into an Atlanta situation.

At SOME point I hope the nation returns to law and order.

You're going to be disappointed if you're waiting for the nation to correct itself through "proper" channels.

Squatting is theft and should NEVER, EVER have ever been allowed.

I don’t care what the excuse is. You want land? BUY IT!!!!

diversity, open borders, and removing God from the public square have caused all these problems.

how is this different than the Amish establishing their own little areas, or the indians having reservations, or the coming migrant islamic hordes like those who have taken over Sverige

A friend of mine has a similar story. He rented a home to a university professor. Can’t get much safer than that, right? Well, after a few months the professor stopped paying rent. My friend finally evicted him. But it took months.

Oh, and before the professor left he mixed up some concrete, and poured it down all the drains. My friend is still trying to collect on that.

My takeaway: If you want to invest in real estate, invest in a real estate trust. As for me, I’ll stick to S&P 500 index funds. Less reward, maybe. But also less headaches.

Oh, we we will be corrected, and it will be through the most proper channels... when Jesus Christ returns with the wrath of the Almighty, not as a merciful Saviour, but as a Judge on the last day. At this point, how much longer can it be?

Well, it’s beginning to look like they will have to federalize the police………which is and has been their dream and end goal.
