In one sense, no. The Senate would never vote to convict. Had they had the votes, the press would talk about how ‘partisan’ the vote was with all Republicans voting in favor in contrast to the ‘bipartisan’ impeachments of President Trump.
But I confess, I am getting tired of losing.

Yes. It does matter. It creates a historical record and sends a message to future cabinet members. If his replacement deserves to be impeached, then impeach them too.
To do nothing is enabling the behavior of the offender.
