I’ve seen a lot of embarrassing days for different House Republican leadership teams. This one is pretty high on the list.
They lost a vote to impeach Mayorkas. And then they lost a vote to send $17.6 billion to Israel.
They didn’t need to vote on the israel bill today. They knew it would fail. They chose to.
Why is that embarrassing? People are on record. Isn’t this the way things work in a constitutional republic?
They really don’t have to vote money for Israel at this time. The plan is to get us involved in a regional conflict so the US taxpayer can pay 100% for the wars with Hezbollah and Iran. It would be nice if the Israelis helped to pay more. They have a national debt of 300 billion. We have a debt that will probably top $40TRILLION before year end. Why are our grandkids borrowing to protect Israel when the Israelis are relatively debt free?
Face it, the GOP caucus is a sick mess. We can’t count on congress to save us.
The Dims, following their Senate leaders want aid for Israel and Ukraine tied to a border/immigration bill. That - I think - is why a majority of the Dims voted against the standalone aid to Israel bill. I say to hell with their political reasons, they were HAPPY to vote against the aid to Israel, and their politics just gave them an excuse.
