It’s up to the store to prove I stole something, not up to me to prove that I didn’t. The moment I trade money for property, said property becomes mine. For any store to use a live receipt checker or some high tech gate is wrong.
I walk right past Walmart checkers. If I went to a store and made purchases and found out that I was locked in the store, that’s the definition of kidnap. They are preventing me and my property from free and unfettered travel.
How? Congress doesn’t appoint state and city DA’s. Soft on crime policies are made at the local level. And yet, even where DA’s tacitly turn a blind eye to theft, it’s not Whites and Asians going on crime sprees. If the problem is merely political, then Vermont should be a crime-ridden hellhole.
I think so. The RFID device is using a tuned circuit coupled to the power generation field. Each type of RFID runs at different frequencies with different ranges for sufficient EM field to energize them. The ranges are typically short and the transmitter/receiver pair lives at the sensing site, not in your home.
The gate looked like something the Amish could hop over.
Make dc a prison. Including the govt.
Nah. They'll ram a stolen car into the security gates.
Well, you are more brave than I am. I like pickling; but pressure canning scares me; I fear I’d goof up and poison all my folks.
I’m VERY careful about filling the jars so they don’t overflow and ruin the seal, and always give the processing time an extra 5 mins just to be sure.
And I watch the gauge like a hawk to make sure the pressure remains steady.
Do you use an electric canner?
Nope.
It’s this one......

I use it on our gas stove, although I have used it on the electric. They cannot be used on glass cook tops however.
I like gas the best because the response time of the pot to adjustments in the heat is so fast.
Grocery prices are so ludicrous, I feel like I’m paying double for the one to make up for the other one that was stolen.
When the system worked properly, random items would be scanned (about 3) to determine if everything was rung up. A law of averages but when it worked properly, some items were a red flag (not mentioned).
Theft is so widespread this became essential.
Until it was virtually defeated.
You would not believe the retail theft that occurs on a daily basis. At all types of stores, not just Walmart. Grocery stores, Hobby Lobby, Lowe’s, Home Depot, etc.
I believe it, but that’s not my problem. Our legal system requires the accuser to prove guilt, not the defendant to prove innocence.

“Longer-term, if the subgroups become permanent (as has happened elsewhere on the Cape), this could be a real hindrance for effective management.”
