Thank you for your illuminating observations. I merely ask if Islamic ‘Call to Prayer’ is obnoxiously blasted over most parts of the city. If that’s allowed then Dearborn is indeed Sharia over U.S. laws and customs.
I think there are a couple of Mosques that do. That said, having an amplified message in public is allowed, for anyone, so it’s probably a difficult one to handle legally.
It’s also notable that you can’t go to a restaurant and get ‘pork anything’. Even the Thai places don’t serve ‘pork fried rice’. They advertise ‘Halal’ food. When I tell them what it means they’re (so they say) shocked.
I’m originally from the UK. Things seem far worse over there. That said, I’m not saying it’s ‘good’ in Dearborn.
