Democratic leaders expressed frustration after a series of voting location changes in South Carolina resulted in widespread confusion just hours before polls were scheduled to close in the party’s first sanctioned primary of the 2024 election cycle.
Several polling locations were consolidated as part of a cost-saving measure for the Democratic presidential primaries, according to a state code implemented late last year. However, not all voters were aware of the changes as they traveled to their local precincts on Saturday — even resulting in a scheduling snafu by national Democrats traveling across the state.
Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison arrived at a voting location to give a news conference on Saturday morning, only to find that the polling place had been moved to another building roughly 2 miles away. Harrison criticized the move, claiming it amounted to a form of disenfranchisement.

Then they must be good changes.
I’m surprised any voters would bother showing up at a Democrat primary after the way they nominated Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Joe Biden in 2020.
Bernie Sanders had way more delegates than either of them - then DNC officials arbitrarily assigned enough “superdelegates” to push their nominee of choice over the top - regardless of votes.
Any self-respecting Democrat would just stay home.. but…
I always loved voting on election day until they consolidated my church voting location with a much larger church. No way I will stand forever (it took over an hour the last time). I now vote early and I’m in and out. Just isn’t the same, though.
I hope they sued for a friendly Dem judge to extend voting hours for extra cheating!
Funny how there’s always polling shortages and restrictions now. I remember when schools, even right down to the elementary schools, YMCAS, and community centers, were open for voting. Just more shenanigans to create an artificial shortage so people will get confused and the Rats can steal elections or push mail-in voting.
