People have personal views on any given topic, but wonder how others by comparison. This brings about someone trying to guess public opinion with “scientific” methods. Except the methods aren’t scientific at all & are completely subjective. You can even get pole opposite results from changing the way a question is worded. In order to do an accurate poll, you’d have to know: ideological category, political party, who will show up to vote on election day, have they voted previously, what region or state, urban/suburban/rural, are they registered correctly, their race, ethnicity, age, religion, gender, sexual orientation/identity, economic class, job status, level of education, etc. You’d have to somehow know who will vote when the election happens & get the correct representative mixture. Polls, good or bad, are bogus because the only real way of polling people is to hold an election- assuming that it’s an honest election 🤔
