Outstanding experience for everyone in your class. Recent promises and gifts include forgiving college loans and new “refundable tax credits”, which mean payouts to people who don’t even pay taxes, but they do vote.
Trump’s significant tax reductions came together with a change in withholding, so that low information voters thought they paid more taxes when they didn’t get as big a refund at the end of the year as usual. With direct deposit paychecks and spending everything every month, people did not even realize that they had more take-home pay.
Republicans are so stupid. Democrats, on the other hand, know that a single check sent out will have a big mental impact on voters.

Verdict Delayed in Trump Civil Fraud Trial as Judge Engoron Weighs Lifetime Business Ban
EXCERPT: The verdict in former President Donald Trump’s civil fraud trial in Manhattan that could see him banned for life from doing business in New York has been delayed until mid-February, according to a court spokesperson. Justice Arthur Engoron said during the trial’s closing arguments on Jan. 11 that he hoped to make his final decision by Jan. 31 in a much-anticipated verdict that could, in addition to hitting the former president with a lifetime business ban, see him fined $370 million.
This is absolutely ludicrous!
Judge, and I use that term loosely, Engoron is out of his mind.

The $53 million pilot program, run by the New Jersey company Mobility Capital Finance, will provide asylum seekers arriving at the Roosevelt Hotel with the city cash to help them buy food, according to city records.
It'll start with a group of 500 migrant families in short-term hotel stays and will replace the current food service offered there, according to City Hall.
The cards can only be used at bodegas, grocery stores, supermarkets and convenience stores — and migrants must sign an affidavit swearing they will only spend the funds on food and baby supplies or they will be kicked out of the program.
The Immediate Response Card initiative appears akin to the state's food stamp program, dubbed SNAP, which provides lower-income New Yorkers with a credit card to cover the cost of meals, and will provide funds based on the same scale.....

Some Republicans may be urging Nikki Haley to drop her presidential bid and step aside for former President Trump — but Trump's former national security adviser, John Bolton, disagrees with them all.
“I think she should stay in,” he told CBS News in an interview Friday. “In fact, I think she should announce that she's gonna stay in through the [Republican] convention, no matter what happens in South Carolina, where it looks like she'll lose.”
Might be "going", but my past experience(s) lead me to a deep mistrust of Press Conference strikes like this.
...just keep flashing back to all those trees/bushes we blew up trying for NVA truck convoys back in the day...but I guess the networks thought things were wonderful just as long as they got pictures and enough material for the next segment.
