The Dark Side Of Col. Douglas Macgregor, Tucker’s ‘Go-To’ Military Expert
American Thinker ^ | 01/28/2024 | Al Bienenfeld

Posted on 01/28/2024 11:07:19 PM PST by SeekAndFind

Over the past two years, Colonel Douglas Macgregor has become Tucker Carlson’s “go-to guy” on foreign policy and military matters. Yet, there is reason to question whether Carlson should be giving Macgregor a bully pulpit. That’s because, during a recent Cyrus Janssen podcast that saw Macgregor offer insights into the current Middle East conflict, he revealed that he traffics in the worst kind of antisemitic tropes and stereotypes. Macgregor’s theme was that Washington is now controlled by Israel, with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu calling the shots.

Preliminarily, Janssen is incredibly hostile to Israel and completely supportive of the Hamas narrative. Given that fact, Macgregor’s willingness to appear on his podcast was already a red flag.

Then, during the interview, Macgregor asserted that Israel has exaggerated the fatality count and the horrors included in these attacks. He further stated that there were a significant number of friendly fire fatalities, inflating the death toll. He suggested that Israel is intent on building an Israeli “super state” from the Jordanian border to the Mediterranean by removing all Arabs in this area. The most stunning accusation was his comparing today’s Israel Defense Force actions to the 1944 Nazi purge of the Warsaw ghetto.

Macgregor spoke of collective punishment, a term he has used before. The term is popular among Hamas supporters in the United Nations as it suggests war crimes. Hence, the Nazi comparison.

Sometimes, it feels as if we are going back in time. In the early 20th century, the fictitious “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” were used to argue a plot by Jews/Zionists to take over the world and subvert Christianity. The abbreviated version of the book first appeared in Russia in 1903.

The “Palestinians” support Hamas and October 7th. Even the Palestinian Authority does. They want a no-Israel solution. The Two State Fantasy is dead in Israel for at least a generation thanks to October 7th. Over 70% of Israelis oppose it including over 80% of Jews and half of the non-Jews. The only fanatics are those who believe in ignoring the words and positions of the Palestinians, Hamas, and the PLO.

Mearshiemer is a fantasist who declares his delusions that the beliefs of others is "realist". He gets history wrong all the time and misreads current events all the time, but because he is a professor at the University of Chicago and calls himself a realist, he isn't called out by the MSM.

Ersatz Realists and Neo-Wilsonists falsely calling themselves neoconservative share many of the same delusions. They think that the ideology of others in general don't matter. You've simply chosen the other side of a fantasy

You are conflating Hamas with the people of Gaza. Biden has forced Israel to resupply Hamas, extending the war.

It was and remains BS. The US overthrows Israeli governments, not the other way around. US military aid is not a sign of Israel and Zionist strength, but a tool to control Israel and reduce its ability to compete in the international arms market. The Obama regime protected Irans nuclear weapons program. AIPAC was afraid to call him out.
Our media and schools are increasingly open not only to opposition to Israeli policy but calls for the destruction of Israel and persecution of Jews who disagree.

If you don’t know the difference between the Biden administration and neoconservatives, I think its time to stop posting and start reading

Neocons won’t go away by sticking your head in the sand and denying they exist.

I don’t see evidence that he wasn’t speaking honestly. Nor do I believe one must vet all interviewers for 100% mind melds.

The US has a special relationship with Israel. It is not based on limiting their arms sales. Despite not having a defense treaty with Israel, the US has provided Israel with extensive aid and assistance since its inception. We have provided Israel with top of the line military equipment and shared sensitive intel. In many instances, the US has stood alone in the UN defending Israel and vetoing anti-Israel measures.

Until recently, Israel has enjoyed overwhelming support from Congress with each party trying to outdo the other when it comes to who is more pro-Israel. Every Presidential candidate speaks to AIPAC declaring their unwavering support of Israel. It has nothing to do with arms sales, but shared values.

Global support for Israel in Europe has been declining for decades due to demographic changes. Events in Gaza have been polarizing and resulted in more overt anti-semitism. In the US we have seen similar manifestations, a reflection of our leftist education system and our own changing demographics.

IIRC Bill Kristol and some other prominent neocons joined the Democrats during Trump. The Kagans and Victoria Nuland sure play a role in Bidens Ukraine policy.

They’ve always been Democrats, they just decided to infiltrate the Republican Party to turn them more to the left.

“They’ve always been Democrats, they just decided to infiltrate the Republican Party to turn them more to the left.”

There is some of that.

But the original neocons were mostly liberals who had a real interest in America having a strong military and an activist foreign policy, and they feared that a second Carter term would be a disaster. Jeanne Kirkpatrick would be an example.

They brought along their favorite liberal domestic policies of the 1960s, which liberal Republicans also shared. And neocon intellectuals spent their time attacking the old line conservatives who were responsible for electing Reagan in the first place. Can’t have those xenophobic racist nativists under their new Big Tent.

The current crop of conservative media pundits are too young to have lived through that. And most of them grew up thinking that neoconservatism defines conservatism.

However after the fall of the Soviet Union, neoconservatives began promoting the idea of America as an imperial power which suits the uniparty just fine. Lots of money and power for the elites when America plays policeman of the world. And that’s where we are now. Except that Trump threatens that order.

BobL "I assume you have examples where MacGregor's been wrong in the past year or so?"

Towarisch bob, here are MacDaddy's errors

https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/4110958/posts

22nd November 2022

And that buildup right now has reached about 540,000 troops....over 300,000 in the South, a little over 200,000 in the North with a thousand rocket artillery systems, 5,000 armored fighting vehicles including at least 1,500 tanks. Huge quantities of artillery, tactical ballistic missiles. All of these things have been readied for a massive assault designed ultimately to end the war. And tragically we keep insisting that Ukrainians not negotiate; that they talk about it, but do nothing and this really consigns Ukraine and its population to more suffering and certain defeat.

Macgregor has been consistently wrong

Let me repeat that for you "MacGregor has been consistently wrong and you putinists keep adoring him

Here are the errors MacGregies has made about Ukraine

Feb 27, 2022 “Now the battle in Eastern Ukraine is almost over, the Ukrainian troops are largely surrounded and cut off, now they have a concentration down in the southeast in 30 to 40 thousand , and if they don't vend, surrender the next 24 hours, the Russians will ultimately annihilate them”,

March 2022 "The battle in eastern Ukraine is really almost over, all of the Ukrainian troops there have been largely surrounded and cut off. You have a concentration down in the Southeast of 30 or 40,000 of them, and if they don't surrender in the next 24 hours, I suspect Russia will ultimately annihilate them."

The Siege of Maruipol would last almost three months beyond that 24 hour prediction.

On March 6 on Fox Business, he found an explanation for why it didn't happen.

“At the first five days, the Russian forces, I think, were too gentle. They have now corrected that. So I would say another 10 days this should be completely over.

Over a year later, this clown is still wrong, and you keep listening to him. I have to ask - why?

March 16, 2022
“”The war is really over for the Ukrainians”, “They have been grounded to bits. There’s no question about that”

15 MONTHS after that and it ain't over

Then on 8th of July 2022: "The war, with the exception of Kharkiv and Odessa, as far as the Russians are concerned is largely over. There is no intention to do anything else"

And a few months later Russia was pushed out of Kharkiv and are actually further away from Odessa than they were in July 2022

July 2022 about HIMARS: It will have no effect on the current situation. Our administration does not want to admit that these military actions are long lost.

September 12, 2022
“this war may soon end,” and added: “The Ukrainian army is bled, tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers are killed or wounded, Ukraine is really in the balance.”

This was the day after the liberation of Izium, Balakleia and Kupiansk - and before the Ukrainian army liberated Kherson.

==========/

Only brain dead snowflakes who support Putin would still believe MacDaddy

I haven′t found a single statement by MacGregor about Ukraine war that didn’t turn out flat out wrong or worse shortly thereafter. It’s not really a question why MacGregor says the things he does, he’s either delusional or on the Kremlin’s payroll (or both). The real question is why would anyone still pay attention to what he’s saying? His credibility was shredded within the first 14 days of the invasion

oh and MacGRegies Feb 2023 claim "We just don't have ammunition to send. We have reached the limit; our own reserves are rapidly coming to an end." -- In reality, for most categories of ammunition, the U.S. can provide support to Ukraine indefinitely. Only for two types of ammunition -- 155 mm artillery ammunition, which includes a wide variety of non-precision projectiles, and 155 mm Excalibur GPS-guided precision artillery shells -- the United States may have a shortage in the coming years if it doesn’t replenish.

However, the U.S. has already moved to increase munitions production to avoid shortages

MacDaddy shows he is a Kremlin puppet every time he opens his mouth.

For others who want to know the REAL situation regarding weapons production in the West, you don’t have to trust MacGregor, as the WESTERN MEDIA is busy reporting exactly the same. This video gives a taste of that, and it uses WESTERN MEDIA SOURCES.
