Be out of step if you want. I don’t give a crap. The problem is when the clown IN CHARGE are out of step we get stupid things like this: forcing automakers to spend a bunch of money (costs that will be passed on to consumers) to keep around a technology that’s already gone.
If you really really want AM radio in your car you can buy one for $20 and not make anybody else pay anything.
I am so out of step I still use horses and buggies—and I expect you to subsidize horse shoe repair shops.

Less than $14 per vehicle to suppress unwanted interference at the source(car) is so cheap as to be a non-issue compared to other government mandates on cars.Such as the “kill switch” ,proposed GPS speed control,etc.
