Misinformation hall-monitor website Snopes was forced to reverse a fact-check on Saturday after making the false claim the Joe Biden did not wear a hard hat backwards during a recent photo-op with construction workers.
When Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) posted the photo of Biden to X with several other construction workers, users responded slamming Biden for wearing the hard hat backwards.
One user zoomed into the photo and posted, "Why his hard hat is wore backward?"
Others were quick to respond to Biden's often middle-class image that is portrayed in media, saying, "Hat backwards because 'he’s a man of the people.'"
"He’s never done a hard days work has he," the X user continued.
The post from Klobuchar started to gain traction and has been seen over 2.4 million times as of Saturday afternoon. As the photo went viral, Snopes was quick to publish a fact-check of claims that the Biden had been wearing the construction gear wrong.
In a now changed post, Snopes writers said, "The photo is genuine. And it does look, at first glance, like Biden was wearing that hard hat backwards. But after comparing it to other photos and videos of the same event, we were forced to reach the opposite conclusion: The hat on Biden's head was facing forward, bill to the front, not backward." The media company rated the claim it was backwards as "false" in their reporting when published on Jan. 26.
By Saturday afternoon, Snopes had reversed course on the claim after posting the fact-check on X with the caption, "Folks are saying Biden was wearing his hard hat backwards in the photo op with Sen. Amy Klobuchar and some construction workers in Superior, Wisconsin. But was he?"
After backlash from comments on the social media platform, the Snopes editors wrote on the reversed fact-check, with a three-paragraph correction, saying, "The prevailing counter-argument is that if the suspension of the hat has been purposely configured by its owner such that the bill and tightening knob are worn to the back (as was the case of the hat Biden wore), to wear that hat with the bill facing forward is, practically speaking, to wear it backwards.
Therefore, it's argued, it's actually true that, in the photo op discussed below, Biden was wearing it backwards. The strap and tightening knob, which should have been behind Biden's head, were on his forehead."
The fact-check outlet had previously stated Biden wore the hat in standard fashion. The writers then summed this up to mean, "A corollary to that argument is 'Biden looks damn silly in any case.'"
Continuing the correction they wrote, "We find these arguments sound. Therefore, the claim 'President Joe Biden wore a hard hat backwards during a photo op with union construction workers in Superior, Wisconsin' is true, and this fact check has been re-rated as such. Thanks to all who argued on behalf of this correction."

The hard hat was on correctly, Biden’s head was backwards.
Biden had the hard hat on backwards. If you are going to wear the hard hat with visor to the back the suspension must be reversed. My safety engineer would have written him up.
Hereabouts at least, only superintendents and site security guards don’t wear their hard hats “backwards.”
For most of them it is difficult to put the hat on the head with that knob on your forehead and looks funny as hell. To change the orientation you have to pull out the liner band and reinstall it the reverse direction. The only ones at the yard who wear their hats “frontwards” are superintendents and the few who have 360 degree visors.
Ah-h-h-h- a picture ! He did , indeed, have it “backwards.”
Can’t blame him, though. He probably never saw one up close enough to see how it is supposed to be worn.
What surprised me the most is that there is a hard and fast rule on the campaign trail.....
the politician should NEVER don a hat or, God forbid, be photographed wearing one.
The simple fact that this picture had to be argued about by Snopes shows their bias. Notice how they bent over backwards with their wordplay. Such is the way with liberals to try and convince you of the opposite of the obvious
Joe Pedo never had any reason to wear a hard hat before. One of his Zero G advisors should have “googled it” to make sure that Jo Jo Pedo had it on right.
Reading Snopes is like believing everything you see on the Boob Tube because it’s on TV.
So was the hard hat on backwards or his head on backwards?
They always have been a shill for the left.
Anyway what do they? They have their people scour the Internet to affirm or debunk the story in question. There’s nothing inherently sacred or superior in accuracy in what they do. Their sources are mostly newspaper stories and the occasional open source database which is often archived newspaper and magazine stories. So there’s nothing unassailable about their sources. If they’re garbage Snopes’ “proof” is garbage. You could sit in front of a computer all day and do the same thing. You can’t so they acquire this aura of accuracy by default.
For leftists correcting their blatantly biased errors is cruel and unusual punishment—banned in the Constitution.

Be sure to read Snopes many ways they tied themselves into a pretzel in their defense of Biden.
At its founding, Snopes was two liberals and a cat (Poor Cat!).
Later, the male founder (some golf pro) brought in a former prostitute as a “partner.” That meant Snopes became two liberals and a whore (not sure if they cat escaped by then).
If I’m not mistaken, the golf pro ran off with the former prostitute and Snopes is a bitter and lonely liberal.

Creepy Joe is just reinforcing his statement to the average worker that “I (he) Don’t Work for You!”
AFAIK, the only workers I know that wear their hardhat backwards are welders because the bill of the hat gets in the way of their welding hood.He had a brown hardhat on that is typically the color of hat riggers wear.That is not always the case. Electricians typically wear yellow hardhats.
