I don’t want a civil war. But it looks less and less likely that one can be avoided.
If so my job as a patriot will probably be to die in concentration camp.

Then, what luck!
There are feds that just happened to be nearby.
They swoop in, flash badge in all directions and run off all other LEO and investigators.
A few days later... HURRAY, the feds “found” the evidence to solve the crime.
Normal American Citizen, conservative, Republican, Christian voter is the evil-doer because the feds say so.
Then... “In order to prevent this horrendous crime from happening again fed.gov is granting “emergency powers” so the feds can shoo, ummm, detain those domestic terrorists without notifying anyone.
