Texas' Latest Border Move Is a Giant Middle Finger to the Biden Admin

"This is not over," pledged Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott in a post on X earlier this week after the Supreme Court sided with the Biden administration on an emergency appeal order allowing federal agents to dismantle razor wire installed by Texas at the Mexican border.

"Texas' razor wire is an effective deterrent to the illegal crossings Biden encourages," Abbott reiterated, correctly contrasting Texas' efforts to do the work of securing the border abdicated by the federal government with the Biden administration's policies that have intentionally incentivized and made it easier for illegal immigrants to enter and be released into the U.S.

Abbott added that, despite legal harassment from the White House, he will "continue to defend Texas' constitutional authority to secure the border and prevent the Biden Admin from destroying our property."

Following through on his pledge from earlier in the week, Texas officials continued deploying even more razor wire along the Texas-Mexico border in defiance of the Biden administration.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Lt. Chris Olivarez, despite the Biden administration's lawsuit to bar border-securing efforts and the Supreme Court's order, Texas — under Abbott's Operation Lone Star — "will maintain its current posture."

That means "deterring illegal border crossings by utilizing effective border security measures — reinforced concertina wire [and] anti-climb barriers along the Rio Grande," Olivarez explained.

Those deterrents, unsurprisingly, have worked and continue to work as Texas fights to secure the international border and slow the record-setting influx of illegal immigrants caused by Biden's border crisis-triggering policies.

"The logical concern should be why the Federal Government continues to hinder Texas’ ability to protect its border, all while allowing for the exploitation, dangerous, [and] inhumane methods of permitting illegal immigrants, including children, to illegally cross a dangerous river where many have lost their lives," Olivarez noted. "Texas is the only state using every strategy [and] resource to protect its sovereignty, combat criminal activity, [and] discourage illegal immigration," he emphasized.

"Texas," he declared, "will continue to hold the line."

That is so awesome!

The man reads the Constitution. He should send an extra copy to the Supreme Court--although I think they have one in the building somewhere.

Written before the escalating letter of today? I’d say yes.

Is this correct:

SCOTUS did not say Texas can’t put razor wire out, they just said the Feds can remove it?

Let’s be sure by starting a campaign to send copies to the SC.

With notes.

That’s just gave me a great idea. Maybe we all should buy those pocket Constitutions and mail them to SCOTUS.

Can TX go 15 feet from the US border and build a formidable barrier?

The SCOTUS ruling was on an emergency appeal by Biden pending a case that will be heard later.

In this case, SCOTUS allowed Biden to continue to cut the wires while the appeal is in progress.

I thought that the courts usually prevent one party from continuing to be destructive to the other party while a case is pending. In this case, SCOTUS is letting Biden continue to tear down Texas border obstructions while the case works it way to SCOTUS.

It's like a court letting an abusive spouse continue to beat his wife while the divorce proceedings are in progress instead of approving the restraining order to keep away while the case is pending.

“ Can TX go 15 feet from the US border and build a formidable barrier?”

Of course they can. Take a play from the gun control people. When they lose one case they just pass an even worse law and the cycle repeats.

Whether they will or not remains to be seen.

If Abbott really wants to stick it to Biden he should announce that anyone laying so much as a finger on Texas State property will be arrested and prosecuted, Border Patrol and ICE included.

That is my reading of it too. SCOTUS said the BP has the authority to do essentially what they want on the border to do their job, but do not have the same authority to interfere with the actions of TX. Neither the BP nor TX can stop the other.

And whose to say that the Border Patrol will do anything to remove the wire anyway.

“”Giant Middle Finger To The Hussein/Biden Regime””

ANY expression of individual rights, freedom is a middle finger to these creeps.

In the DemocRAT dictionary, the word freedom has several asterisks and exclamation marks indicating danger.

Freedom****!!

Private Property****!!

Individual Rights****!!

****!!=Dangerous - re-education necessary to expunge these radical ideas.

Everyone has to remember, that TX is part of a coalition of 26 states that has been contributing support in the form of personnel and resources for border security since April 2022. The declaration today is another step in assuming jurisdiction and taking subsequent action due to dereliction of duty by the Feds be it deliberate or by reckless neglect.
