To Save America, Abolish the TSA
The Pipeline ^ | 23 Jan 2024 | Michael Walsh

The Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." Nevertheless, like so much else in the Bill of Rights, those sentiments are no longer valid, especially when you're shuffling your way, shoeless and beltless, through the sheep pens of the Transportation Security Administration, George W. Bush's gift to the American traveling public.

In retrospect, it's clear that Osama bin Laden emerged the victor of 9/11. He brought down the Twin Towers and took a chunk out of the Pentagon, severely wobbled the American economy, destroyed the freedom of the skies, set the American government haring after all sorts of villains but not a single enemy it would name, and made himself a martyr. Worst of all, because of the actions of 19 Muslim hijackers, most of them Saudi nationals but all of them members of the Islamic ummah, he panicked the U.S. government into presumptively criminalizing more than 300 million American citizens with the passage of the Patriot Act and the creation of the Department of Homeland Security and of the TSA, a mortal sin that will live in infamy.

That looks like SCHIPHOL. EUROPE IS WORSE THAN OUR TSA. ESPECIALLY, TO AMERICAN CITZENS!

These people were never officers. They still aren’t. Many can’t pass any kind of security background check an officer or real intelligence agent would, much less pass all the tests and training required.

They are glorified baggage handlers given pretend play police powers.

I wasted my six months of my life training for and working at the TSA. The sleaziest place I have ever worked. And yes, it did make for some bad conflicts with friends (and my own conscience.)
I eventually quit because it was such a rotten work environment. The guards HATE the traveling public — and that was one reason why I often was spoken to by the higher ups — I was TOO respectful and too nice to the travelers.

Read that again. I was reprimanded a handful of times for being TOO friendly.

When I quit, I was a no call no show. One of the managers called me that morning. I was required to come in for an exit interview.

It was no holds barred.

When I left, on my way home, I got a nasty phone call from the big wig I spoke with. I needed to return my parking pass. I told her, “Too late... I tore it up.” Showed her the photo of the destroyed pieces.

I had QUIT, and she was still speaking to me like I was an employee.

Apparently, I wasn’t supposed to damage the parking pass.

I asked her... “Oh man, does that mean I might get fired?” Then started laughing and hung up on her.

She called back a few minutes later. I didn’t pick up.

She eventually stopped calling.

I got my last check, nothing was short. A day or two later.

Worst job of my entire life. American Gestapo. That’s all they are.

But it was funny seeing the creepy stuff in peoples luggage.

I have to differ. I lived and worked in Europe for ten years. The worst part of any trip home, which i did at least twice a year, sometimes more, was dealing with (1) US Passport Control and (2) US Customs. Always a pain and they give you the third degree, and I am a citizen. The worst in Europe was Ireland, always got the third degree there too.

If bin laden could laugh in hell, he’d be tortured day and night by laughter at what we have done to ourselves with the TSA.

There are quite a few candidates for abolishing that come way before the TSA.

I may be the lone dissenting voice, but my experiences with TSA have been almost all good. I flew yesterday and the people were polite, funny, kind and professional. I come prepared to empty my pockets. We get TSA Pre, so don’t have to remove shoes, belts, or take electronics out of backpacks. The lines are short. Things move efficiently. No complaints.

Our daughter and her one of her teammates found a razor blade on the plane when their college sports team flew to CA for a tournament.

When we flew with my elderly father and stepmother to Texas some years ago, she was stopped and wanded, searched, and forced to stand in the scanner with her arms out and raised. She had Alzheimer’s and was being pushed through the airport in a danged wheelchair!

Same as all the covid BS.

Big Government gleefully overreacts to any perceived crisis and uses the “crisis” as an excuse to chip away at the constitution. Using the panicked sheep as a shield to “do something!”
