A tech boss has plunged to his death during his firm’s celebrations as horror footage captured his final moments alive.
Sanjay Shah, CEO of US-based company Vistex, was making a grand performance in an iron cage before part of the chain supporting the structure snapped.
The freak accident took place at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, India, during the company’s silver jubilee on Thursday evening, The Sun reports.
Sanjay, accompanied by his colleague Raju Datla, entered an iron cage on stage intended to be lowered from a height.
But one side of the iron chain supporting the cage broke, dropping both men over 4.5 metres to the concrete ground.
The collapsing cage, pulled by a rolling machine, had iron wires and grills.
“Suddenly, one of the two wires attached to the cage snapped. Both plunged more than 15 feet and landed on the concrete dais. This caused multiple injuries,” cops said.
Sanjay and Raju were rushed to the hospital, but the CEO succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
His colleague remains in a serious condition.
“Shah and Raju being lowered from the cage onto the dais was a planned event to kickstart the celebrations,” a company official told The Times of India.
Police added that a case was registered against the Film City event management authorities based on a complaint made by another company official.
Vistex, an Illinois-based firm, had arranged accommodations for its staff at Ramoji Film City and had planned a two-day celebration for its silver jubilee.
The company specialises in revenue management solutions and services, with 20 global offices and more than 2,000 employees.
Vistex serves leading brands such as GM, Barilla, and Bayer.

OY!
Freak accident...
Bet it wasn’t.
They must have used cheap 1/4” Chinese made chain or something.
Well somebody explain to me why the “heroes of the revolution!” removed my tag line!

Sometimes I erase my tagline because of typos. If you ever have to corret a typing error and the screen jumps, the tageline can be deleted.
It appears that stupid decisions were taken at many points along the way.

BarbM may be right that you accidentally removed your own tagline.
I have seen the mods tell someone to remove or change their tagline which would seem to indicate that they don’t have the ability to do it themselves.
You could take the risk and put it back and see what happens or you could ask them directly if they removed it.
In any case I’m not taking any chances so ... Long live the Heroes of the Revolucion!
Absolutely, and I WELCOME MY ROBOT OVERLORDS!
snicker-snicker
Cage dancing went out in 1970.
You probably fat fingered it. I’ve done that to mine before, and had to re-do it.
This reminds me of an old Columbo episode where a weight fell and crushed someone in the weight room.
The “accident” was a murder of course....
This one doesn't make sense to me either - and I'm not reading any mysteries.
