...Trump won the Iowa caucuses handily; the major networks called for him almost as soon as the doors opened. There was never any question that he wouldn’t, except perhaps in the mind of the most delusional DeSantis aides.
Nikki Haley was in a tight race for second against DeSantis, as each pretends that they are in fact really running for president – and not, as anyone can see, for the positions of vice-president and attorney general, respectively.
Perhaps because Trump’s fait accompli has no plot and can’t drive ratings, or perhaps because they are in denial, the networks have spent the better part of the past year pretending that there is a legitimate primary contest in the Republican party. There isn’t...
In retrospect, the notion that the 2024 Republican nominee would ever have been anyone other than Donald Trump was always a bit absurd. In 2022 and 2023, when large donors, exhausted by Trump, began pouring obscene amounts of money into the DeSantis campaign, the move had a kind of desperate logic...
But what DeSantis offered voters was Trump’s bevy of resentments without any of Trump’s humor or charisma. On the trail, DeSantis is reptilian and creepy. He has a plaintive, whining affect that makes his hatreds for racial and gender minorities become obviously pathetic, rather than commanding. He has an almost uncanny ability to say the wrong thing...
Haley, meanwhile, has consolidated much of the “Never Trump” vote, or what’s left of it, all while studiously refusing to criticize Trump much at all...

If he rolls through the primaries, don’t be surprised if some kind of “accident” presents itself.
Well, he does need to avoid getting the George Wallace treatment.
Or do we call that the Bobby Kennedy treatment?
No doubt the deluded children at The Guardian were crying when they wrote this.
hatreds for racial and gender minorities
A solid part of the rage is that Trump has smashed traditional politics.
Independents are 47% of the electorate, and the two parties are fringe parties. The media can’t grasp this. They are about 26-27% total each. 27% Dem, 27% GOP. And 47% Independent.
People think — or desperately want to think — this means they are profoundly moderate and somewhere in between left and right.
They aren’t. They reject the issues of left and right. Their issue is DRAIN THE SWAMP, and that is why the media desperately wants this not to be so, because they are part of the Swamp. So they will ask questions about abortion and guns and funding this or funding that and those are not the issues of this election.
The issue is smashing the elites of both parties. Time spent talking about abortion is time not spent talking about draining the swamp. So they will puff their chests up and demand that the candidates talk the issues, but they dare not talk about the only issue that matters — Drain the Swamp.
The Bobby Kennedy assassination was blatant Deep State electoral interference.
He would have been elected President—almost certainly—and he made it clear he was going to re-open the JFK assassination and find and punish the evil-doers.
Btw the best book on the RFK assassination that goes through all the details—and the coverup that followed:

The Guardian is trash, and so is this article. In actual fact, before the outrageous indictments started Trump’s political position was quite shaky. Biden’s persecution of Trump has turned a potential has-been into a political titan.
The Leftist Guardian failed to mention it was an Historic win by Trump.
Agreed—Republicans (including me) have to stand up for President Trump—not just because the Deep State stole an election—and lied about it—but because they doubled down with blatantly phony lawfare for “political crimes”.
If they can do it to him they can do it to anyone—and in fact have done so with a long list of J6 political prisoners.
DeSantis and Haley have folded like cheap tents to Deep State pressure—refusing to tell the truth about the stolen election and refusing to stand tall with the J6 political prisoners.
Claudine Gay would have been a more credible candidate than this guy.
Trump is unstoppable.
Only an act of the anti-Christ will stop him.
The anti-Christ has thousands of demons working in the democratic party trying to stop Trump through unlawful shenanigans. Those demons won’t stop and even the never-Trumpers in the republican party are rooting for those demons.
Otherwise, Trump is a sure thing to be the next president.
“Trump won Iowa handily. The idea that he won’t be the nominee is absurd”
Ron’s not going to like that at all, because:
A. the media is against him
B. it will sway primary voters to vote for Trump
Research into how independents view Trump.
Hint, they don’t like him at all.
I think you need a cold shower—oh wait, you are one.
Lol.
Ron DeSantis turned out to be everything I would have expected from a Harvard educated lawyer who has never worked outside government in his life.
Claudine Gay would have been a more credible candidate than this guy.

Lol
Ouch.
LOL!
Think about this. 40% of IA GOP said the #1 issue was the illegal criminal invasion. Dunno what percentage had it #2 or 3.
If they feel this way in IA, imagine how things are going in New Kabul (NY) or Benghazi-by-the-Lake (Chicago).
The only reason the others are still in, is they are hoping that Trump gets found guilty and sentenced to prison; then they’ll be the forced nominee.
Stupid, but that’s what they’re going with. Long past time for the GOP dopes to get behind Trump and start hammering the pinkos.
Bingo !!!
