Joe Biden, or more likely his handlers, levied an ultimatum on Thursday, demanding that Gov. Greg Abbott relinquish control of the “disputed” border areas Texas has been securing. That came after 25 states joined together to pledge their support to Abbott as he battles the federal government and its refusal to enforce immigration laws.

This DHS letter was addressed to Texas AG Ken Paxton on January 23, 2024.
“Because the Department owns property rights to the areas depicted on the attached map, we demand that you immediately remove any and all obstructions on it, which include the access points into Shelby Park...”
“By January 26, 2024, please confirm that the State will provide U.S. Border Patrol with the access described above. If the State refuses the requested access in part, but not in whole, please specify what access you intend to deny.”

The unity behind closing the border is the most promising development we have seen on the right in years. This is because of three major reasons:
1) Elon Musk liberating X/Twitter. Thanks to this platform we have a fighting chance to challenge the media and expose what is actually happening on the border
2) The political popularity of Trump. Trump becoming the presumptive GOP nominee has helped to elevate the border as a dominant and winning issue. Even McConnell knows this
3) Gov. Abbot’s willingness to reject old Bush era Republicanism. Abbott leaning into the border despite a disappointing SCOTUS ruling is exciting and promising.
Closing the border and deporting illegals is quickly becoming the most energizing issue of 2024.

If Biden does nothing, he looks weak.
If he nationalizes the Guard, he is using the Federal government to facilitate an invasion of the United States, which is indefensible.

Former President Trump posted a video Thursday with extended remarks about former magazine advice columnist E. Jean Carroll after he was limited earlier in the day in a New York courtroom in testifying on behalf of himself in Carroll’s civil defamation case.
Trump was found liable in May 2023 for sexually abusing and defaming Carroll, who had accused him of sexually assaulted her in 1996. He was ordered to pay $5 million in damages.
Trump denied the allegations, which resulted in the defamation charge.
This second trial, which began Jan. 16, is centered on how much Trump will owe Carroll in additional damages.
