NBC Bragged About Streaming Numbers for Peacock-Only Playoff Game, and Fans Didn’t Want to Hear It KARL RASMUSSEN
NBC announced its ratings for the Peacock-exclusive NFL Playoff game between the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday night.
The network boasted some massive numbers for the game, which aired exclusively on NBC’s streaming service. According to NBC, the wild-card round game was the most streamed event of any kind ever in the United States, with more than 23 million viewers tuning in.
While the network was pleased with the viewership milestones, fans weren’t quite so ecstatic. Those who didn’t have a subscription to the platform but wanted to watch game didn’t have much choice but to pay for one.
Fans on social media weren’t fans of NBC boasting its record-setting ratings after the game, and they voiced their complaints on X.

$110 million.
Hold that pose, Taylor.
“Hey Mr. Travis, I’m here to stay,
I’m over 30 and has come my day”
“With my fat red lips, It’s not no maybe,
I’m really desperate, and I need that baby”
“So listen one and all, it’s long past fall,
Not in the song, but I’ve hit the wall.”
“Got us all on the tv, for all to see,
Now you can’t back out, cause it’s me, me, me”
“Try something different, and do me wrong,
I’ll, blast it out on my next new song”
It’s a game about selvedge.
Top tier of XM satellite radio
has all the NFL. $29 per month but if
you listen enough—many channels—the
less than $1/day is worth it.
In 2022 I paid $3 for one month of
MLB audio so I could hear baseball
playoffs at work (I work nights),
then cancelled.
Last year I used XM for all of that.
“Those who didn’t have a subscription to the platform but wanted to watch game didn’t have much choice but to pay for one.”
Sure there was another choice... Just say no.
Wow.
Everyone should stop watching and start paying attention to what the Government is doing to us. The NFL is just there to take your eye off the ball.
I ordered it about 20 minutes before the game and cancelled during the game. My rationality was based on renting movies for the grandkids at sometimes $20 per movie on Netflix etc.
Subscription is good till 13 Feb so the wife can now finish season 4 and 5 of Yellowstone.
It’s all a scam...the old cable days weren’t that bad.
There’s only about 6 teeth among them.
I keep getting emails from them saying $5 a month.
Well good for Disney. They should make all the games like that. Maybe people will wise up and get out and do something instead of wasting their time on a stupid football game.
“NBC and Peacock ought to be ashamed of themselves. Greed. Pure greed.”
That’s what Marxists say about all Capitalists who have a product people are willing to pay for.....
How many here have become less than the constitutional, conservative, pro-capitalists that they have claimed to be - by slow and gradual brainwashing, without ever realizing it?
Funny how a small personal inconvenience show the shallowness of one’s principles and convictions.
That game was only streamed on NBC? I had no idea since I could not have cared less about it.
And I’m a HUGE football fan. Disappointed in my Browns. Stroud was amazing. Dallas’ D was horrible. Could run through a ton of stats if someone wants.
But this game did not even hit my radar. Just didn’t care.
Only streamed? Huh. Who knew.
******
It’s not credible that one would not be aware when the defending Super Bowl champion team, the Kansas City Chiefs, was playing in the playoffs or the controversy surrounding the NFL’s extortion of the fans for money. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Fair enough. Guess I just don’t like KC or Peacock. LOL.

So now I am a Marxist?
I already pay for Dish and Sports TV or whatever comes with DISH. I called and said to DISH I only buy DISH for football and if you can’t provide me with football, what is the point of me buying DISH? I certainly didn’t buy it to watch Bluebloods. So I suppose if I didn’t have Dish, I wouldn’t mind paying for Peacock if Peacock had all the football, but no, Peacock doesn’t have all the football. Amazon Prime has Thursday Night football. Sunday Ticket has some football. So you and your “capitalism” is awesome don’t have it right either.
Fair enough. Guess I just don’t like KC or Peacock. LOL.

That’s how I feel about the Seahawks LOL
Such is life in the Circusphere. Addicts will even choose it over their daily bread.
Since you have it for a month I’d recommend taking a look at Poker Face. I really enjoyed it spectrum gave me a free year of Peacock. I’m keeping it just for that. Paying extra so I can watch all of Law and Order as well as the Chicago shows the day after air broadcast without commercials
