The tanker which the Iranians have boarded today in the Gulf of Oman is the ST NIKOLAS (9524475); carrying Iraqi oil. Formerly known as the SUEZ RAJAN; she was seized by the US government for having transported a million barrels of Iranian oil in connection to a US company.
Let’s nuke their ass and take their gas.
Captains need to be able to arm and protect their ships.
Empire Navigation, the vessel's operator, said the tanker was loaded with 145,000 tons of crude from the Iraqi port of Basra and was en route to Aliaga in western Turkey through the Suez Canal. It noted all communication with the vessel had been lost.
St Nikolas' Automatic Identification System (AIS), a tracking system that uses transceivers on ships to identify and locate vessels, was switched off. The vessel's last known position was about 50 miles east of Sohar late Wednesday night.
This is what I can find, for now.
Send Tom Hanks. He’ll distract them while Keanu Reeves kills them all with one shot.................
Right. How dare they hijack a ship that we stole. :-P
Kerry and Pedo-Joe will just give the Iranian muzzies another hundred billion or so to show them who’s boss!
Each US response, or feckless lack of one, sends a reverberating message throughout that region and to the rest of the world. I imagine that the ChiComs, Norks, Iranians, and our erstwhile allies are as\lso nervously watching and assessing their relationships with us.

Stolen elections have consequences.
After reading more details about this incident and the history of this ship, I’m not sure why the U.S. has any reason to respond at all. It’s not a U.S.-flagged vessel, it isn’t owned by an American company, and it’s not in U.S territorial waters.
The insurance companies typically prohibit it as a condition for issuing a policy to cover a ship. No ship can sail without insurance.
What was the basis of the dispute where America thought it had an interest in the ship and it’s cargo?
If it’s in the rights of sanctions, the Navy needs to go and retrieve the sanctioned items.
Failure to so demonstrates the Biden Willow regime’s failures in resolve.
The U.S. government filed a criminal case against the company involved, and had them bring it to the U.S. and offload the oil as part of the criminal penalty in the plea agreement.
Ten bucks says Iran is just returning the favor. They will bring the ship to Iran and drain all the oil out of it — to compensate them for what was “stolen” from them previously.
