In February of 1989 we were below -60 for 10 days. It had been -20 or 30 for a couple weeks. Thjen it went to -40 for a while. Then it went to -50. Then it got cold. My #2 grandson was born at Ft. Riley Kansas Feb 3. We flew there and stayed at a hotel in Manhattan KS. Glad I got a rental car with heated seats, as the morning temp that month averaged a minus 10.
