There are calls for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to be disqualified from Donald Trump's Georgia election-interference case, following unsubstantiated allegations she has been involved in a romantic relationship with Nathan Wade. He was hired as a special prosecutor for the proceedings.
The claim was made by Michael Roman, one of Trump's co-defendants, in a legal motion filed on Monday. It seeks to have his seven charges dismissed and Willis and her staff members disqualified from the case. Newsweek reached out to the Fulton County District Attorney's office and representatives of Trump for comment by email on Tuesday.
In August 2023, Trump and 18 others were indicted in Georgia over claims they broke the law while attempting to overturn Joe Biden's 2020 presidential election victory in the state. The former president is facing 13 criminal charges in Georgia including an accusation that he violated the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, initially introduced to combat organized crime. Trump has pled not guilty to all counts and has repeatedly said that the case against him is politically motivated.
Reacting on his Truth Social website, Trump called for all the charges in the Georgia case to be dropped following the allegations against Willis.
The former president wrote: "ALL CHARGES AGAINST ME, AND OTHERS, SHOULD BE IMMEDIATELY DROPPED, WITH APOLOGIES, AND MONETARY DAMAGES FOR THE ILLEGAL AND HIGHLY POLITICAL PERSECUTION OF INNOCENT PEOPLE."
Writing on microblogging website Threads, defense attorney and legal commentator Ken White said the allegations against Willis are "potentially catastrophic for the Fulton County case." Any collapse of the Georgia case would be a major win for Trump, who, polling indicates, is by some margin the lead Republican candidate for the party's 2024 presidential nomination.

Just from the county manual on ethics...Willis has a problem. State bar association will be forced to at least review what she did.
Case probably is dead at this point...judge has to be pretty angry over how she screwed this up...wasting a ton of time/effort.

Since the divorce records of Wade are sealed. I suspect they are getting this information from attorney for the estranged wife. “There is nothing like a woman scorned”. And an attorney wanting to win his case and get the woman as much money as possible.

She should be charged with theft of taxpayer money... And that should surprise, well... No one.

Disqualified?
She committed crimes investigating Trump! She committed crimes gathering evidence and coordinating with the White House lawyers via her illegally appointed special council. Everything after is fruit of the poison tree, everything.
If she wasn’t a Democrat, she would be removed, disbarred, and the State of Georgia would be paying enormous compensation to all involved.
Prosecutor misconduct by Democrats is at epidemic levels. Violation of defendants rights to fair trail, including fair grand juries, is unacceptable. Prosecutors should face the defendant’s maximum punishment and fees/costs if they do this. We the people need to add teeth to the Brady acts.

One of the Defendant’s attorneys got this information. THEN the records in the divorce were sealed. The attorney had gotten this information before the records were sealed. She (the defense attorney is a woman) has now filed a petition with the court to unseal those records because they obviously have significant probative value for her client......but of course the same will be true of all the other people Fani Willis charged in connection with the election challenge.

I’m sure they’ll have pics....receipts from their cruise in the Caribbean, their trip to Napa Valley, etc etc.
Fani Willis is going to face charges here. She violated a bunch of statutes against bribery, corruption, etc and that’s to say nothing of her duty to appoint people who were disinterested 3rd parties (to ensure fair investigations and prosecutions).
If they’ve got evidence to prove this and I can’t imagine they wouldn’t.....she is finished and any and all charges in this case are finished.
