The torrent of emotions that accompanies the decision on whether or not to have children has been intensely complicated on our over-heating planet.
A recent review of studies in western countries, including the US and UK, asked how climate change was affecting plans to have children. It found substantial evidence that fears about the crisis were putting many people off.
In some countries, concern has become so palpable, that organisations have sprung up to help people deal with making monumental personal decisions in the midst of global existential crisis.
Among these is Conceivable Future, an organisation started in 2014 in the US by Meghan Kallman, a sociologist and Rhode Island State Senator, and Josephine Ferorelli, an activist and writer. The group aims to help tackle big questions on reproduction and parenting, along with “how to get politically involved to make the world safer for everyone’s children”.
Now, Kallman and Ferorelli have taken the lessons they have learned in the past decade and compiled those into a how-to guide, The Conceivable Future: Planning Families and Taking Action in the Age of Climate Crisis, to be published in February.

“The torrent of emotions that accompanies the decision on whether or not to have children has been intensely complicated on our over-heating planet.”
Knock yourselves out.
Good grief!
People this stupid really shouldn’t have children.
I recently heard someone express the sentiment that the planet was overcrowded and they would not want to bring children into this world.
Whenever I hear this crap I want to ask these narcissistic imbeciles why they are still with us. If they think this is true, why aren’t they walking the walk and being part of the solution?
“The battle for a livable planet”
The left are quite the drama queens, AND liars
Raising children to stay sane while being bombarded with climatic fear-mongering must be a sore trial. Glad I missed that. Not glad that grandkids are suffering it.
What utter drivel…
The only thing making this planet unlivable are leftists.
That’s easy. Do what we did. Mock the climate crazies as the delusional whack jobs that they are. Your kids will see the truth and act accordingly.
I was at my aunt and uncles house one day when he committed the son of throwing something in the trash. His skull full of mush daughter began berating him because her teacher said they need to recycle.
He foolishly backed down while at the same time I said the teacher is an idiot and he can do with his trash what he wants to do with his trash.
Sadly, years later my cousin is still a skull full of mush leftist.
Oh, part II. Homeschool.
I just threw up in my mouth a little.
If you believe in “global warming or climate change”...PLEASE DO NOT HAVE CHILDREN. We need fewer morons.
ROFLOL. IT’S FAKE TO FACILITATE CONTROL AND LAND GRABS.

If your a little kid and your parents biggest concern is climate change you don’t have a chance….
The “battle”? Who are we fighting with?
THOSE same people will pay out over 1/3 of their earnings in their lifetime to support the Ghetto kids & illegal invaders kids.
Meanwhile, while the Chicken Little society are agonizing over “climate change”, it was reported here on FR just this past week that the quantity of ice build-up right this minute in the arctic is the highest it has been in 20 years.
Turn your kids into Climate Neurotics. That’s the right thing to do.
Do you remember collecting soda bottles off the street to get the 5-cent refund for candy or comic book money? I do, I did it. I reuse things that are useful for leftovers. Those lunch meat sealable containers make good stackable freezer storage for Bacon Grease or leftover veggies till I make a pot of soup. Washed and reused till they wear out. Grocery bags are small can trash liners. Wet food prep items go in them too. And they make good puke bags. When kitchen bags got too expensive, we now fill them with trash and put them in the outside trash can.
I do it because I can save money.
I grew up in hand-me-downs as I had many older girl cousins, only shoes were new, as I have the smallest feet.
