Grew up in New England. We didn’t count it a “Major Nor’easter” until the snow depth exceeded two feet. The seven inches the NOAA is promising my daughter’s place in coastal Maine is just a dusting. Barely enough to bother plowing.
I lived through one in 1977 that left SEVEN feet on our street in Cambridge. THAT was a major storm.
Remember that 77 blizzard. Was a real money maker for a kid with his father’s snow blower and a shovel
That reminds me of the blizzard of 93 which came thru nc Appalachia. We got four feet. National Guard was sent out.
I remember that storm of ‘77. Dopey cat ran out right at the beginning of it (never ran out before that). Saw it on the garage roof two later. Finally came back as if nothing happened.
Also the ones of early ‘94. We used to tie orange flags to the kids’ hats - that’s all we’d see as they ran up and down the paths we dug for them.
Wasn’t that 1978 ?
…..
Love how northeasters stall over Boston.
They deserve it.
We got snow in Miami in 1977
