He was great for many years as Vice President, but like many executives, got way too comfortable.

The CEO of my current employer was in the CEO seat for over 25 years. Highly unusual for a subsidiary of a Fortune 500 company. He was a good guy but had gotten way too comfortable. He was moved out and new leadership came in. Since then, we’re on our third CEO, all of whom have grown the company in dollars and stature. All good leaders. The company has almost tripled in revenue in the past several years after a decade or more of being happy with flat or slightly higher revenue.

I hope NRA focuses more on the important issues under a new leader.

LaPierre was one of the worst threats to 2nd Amendment rights in the past 20 years. He turned the NRA into a useless racketeer-influenced corrupt organization with himself as the racketeer.

I hope the NRA becomes effective again but doubt that will happen.

Beltway tailor shops are going to be awfully disappointed. I think over the years the Swamp sucked him in, but to be fair Wayne was a pretty good front man for a very long time. Then he wasn't.

Quite a few possible candidates but remember, this isn't a normal political job, it's a lobbyist's job and sometimes what you have to do to get results at that isn't very pretty. Still, a butt-kicker would be very much in order at the present time, IMHO. Too bad Winsome Sears isn't available, she'd be perfect...
