Exclusive — Donald Trump: Who Gets Vice Presidential Nod ‘Has Never Made a Difference’ in Election Outcome
breitbart ^ | 1/4/2024 | MATTHEW BOYLE and ALEXANDER MARLOW4

Posted on 01/04/2024 6:39:29 PM PST by Presbyterian Reporter

Former President Donald Trump, the Republican frontrunner for president in 2024, told Breitbart News exclusively during a two-hour-plus interview at Mar-a-Lago last week that the person who gets the nod for vice president will not make much difference in the grand scheme of things regarding winning the election.

“If you study the history of presidential runs, a vice president has never made a difference—which is surprising,” Trump said. “It’s a one-night story, and then they’re back to a regular evening. They’re voting for the president. They’re not voting for the vice president. There has, not that I can think of, never been a vice president that’s made much of a difference in terms of nomination and in terms of even winning the election.”

While Trump did not get into specifically whom he would pick if he wins the nomination as expected or a timeline for an eventual decision, he did say that Republicans have a deep bench, and lots of people would be good choices.

If Sarah Palin hadn't been (NoName)'s VP nominee in 2008, the admiral's son's popular vote would've been 33% instead of the the 46% it was.

Without Palin's popularity, (NoName)'s electoral success would have been even worse than his military flying record or the look of his eventual coffin flag's wrinkles.

Trump’s not saying that the VP pick is unimportant. He’s just saying that it doesn’t sway the outcome of the election. Few voters are going to change their mind on a candidate based on who they pick for VP.

>>”Trump needs to select a successor for MAGA-”

Not necessarily. There will be 4 years for a successor to emerge. There’s no reason it has to be his VP.

Those are three horrible anti-maga globalist choices.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Absolutely true in my opinion. I cannot at the moment think of any politician at the Federal level who could be trusted to fully support President Trump and his MAGA agenda. On the other hand, I can think of several gentlemen who are not politicians who I believe would be trustworthy. Also there are several women I could recommend if only they weren’t women!

The problem with Nikki Haley is that she will make a difference. She will take the winds out of Trump’s sails at election time. If she is the VP pick, Trump’s base may still vote for him. But they will do it with far less enthusiasm. She is the swamp that he rails against.

But the real issue will come after the election. She will not do anything he says. Like Pence she will become the Benedict Arnold, the CIA’s inside man. And she never has to listen to him or do as he says. And frankly the CIA will set up a shadow government with her as its mouth piece.

“crap stains” on it doesn’t change any part of the intent of the constitution.

your comment sounds like “people already jumped off the bridge so we should just keep doing it. why stop now?”

God gave everyone the ability to think and make choices, just because some choose not to think, or to make poor choices doesn’t mean we should keep at it.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
News of that comment made me shudder with anxiety because it reveals exactly the kind of thinking and personal assessment that resulted in the appointment of some of the WORST people he could have possibly selected! The “bench” is FILLED with characters who CANNOT be trusted. WAKE THE HELL UP MR. PRESIDENT!

President Trump is great, but here he is wrong.

POTUSes die about 10 percent or so of the time.

So Schlichter had this idiotic column where he said, "Oh yeah VP running mate should be Nicky Haley to satisfy the moron element."

Since the Deep State and Rats have about as much respect for anyone's life as most people do for bugs, even the POTUS's life, this idea makes me shudder.

Here's a novel idea: Pick someone who will actually take the VPOTUS job seriously.

Job 1 for VPOTUS is to HAVE THE BALLS NOT to certify electors from states where voting fraud has occurred. Tell the public before the election that that is exactly what you are going to do. Then, when voting fraud occurs from the Rats on election day, kick the problem back to the Republican-dominated state legislatures. When the riots start, call out the Nasty Girls. And tell them to shoot... Shoot to kill.

Instead of being worthless with no official duties and complaining about the job as being as interesting as a 'warm bucket of spit', the VPOTUS should be seriously engaged in intensive training in history, economics, energy policy, constitutional law, and military strategy.

He should visit many, many large corporations from all kinds of industries, not to have his ass kissed by a bunch of Silicon Valley fruits but to see farming, water treatment, shipping, manufacturing, and other Mike Rowe stuff. Get a grasp and feel of the huge American economy and appreciate how it relates to our national security and how it has been given away, by the corrupt, to the CCP.

With regard to military learning, the VPOTUS should avoid Pentagon/McNamara/Milley "How to lose wars for 80 years straight and get hundreds of thousands of people killed in the process" bullshit but instead, stress actual real military strategy. Make him train for a potential war. Have him prepare. Have simulations until he is gagging on them. Make him work and study very hard.

Not sit on his ass and talk about his pompous self-approval that he calls faith and figure out ways to backstab the POTUS like Pence did.

LOL! He can ONLY pick desantis?

Ron too full of Ron dreams, he’s got no room in his brain for the actual USA Citizens. If he cared at all he would have zero illegals in the state of FL. He has the authority to secure FL borders and get them out and he has not bothered to all these years. If he can’t do that to help his state, he sure won’t be helping the whole country. The only thing he wants to help himself to is more power & money.

could he pick Melania? she seems smarter and wiser than many of our top conservative type” leaders”. she could get a place in another state or trump could move so president and vp are not from same state, if that’s a problem.

As President Trump is aware conservatives believe in merit and don’t believe in selecting inferiority based on lunacy.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Well if he is so aware he must have had a recent metamorphosis because that rogues gallery of characters he appointed throughout his first Term could hardly have been worse!
