Yeah, I love hearing this kind of news before I fly. Once, well never mind. Have a safe flight.

Japan is a very*very* homogeneous country...and that's not a coincidence.Government policy deliberately makes it just about impossible for “foreigners” to gain permanent residency or citizenship. But Japan is aging very rapidly...so they might have to change that policy in order to survive.

True enough...but one of the many, many things I've found fascinating in Japan is that the trains run *exactly* on time. You can set your watch by them.

I read an story recently about a train line that allowed one of its trains to leave something like 30 *seconds* before it was scheduled to leave. The company issued a specific apology for such a grievous error. I kid you not!

Also, years ago there was a horrible accident in which a Japan Airlines 747 crashed killing something like 500 people. Not long after that at least one airline official (and I think it was more than one) committed suicide. IIRC the final report said that it was Boeing's fault for having improperly repaired damage that had happened to the plane years earlier.

There a dent in the left engine cowling. I wonder if the wing tip of the coast guard plane impacted it.

So the Coast Guard plane is the one that went up in flames. And the other plane had 300+ people that all escaped. That ball of flame must’ve been a sight to see from so close

I think the dent and engine fire pretty much assures that the engine struck the coast guard plane.

Fault goes to the pilot of the coast guard plane for failure to yield.

We’ve been expecting such an event in the USA due to DEI affirmative action hiring practices.

Among other things. And the preview event takes place of foreign shores. Which means ATC world wide might just be suffering from complacency, poor training, poor supervision,
self medication of any number of kinds, etc etc.

Surely an accident waiting to happen.

There is new video of a passenger filming from the other side of the aircraft after evacuating. The right engine has big damage. The landing gear is missing. It also looks like the nose of the aircraft is damaged/dented in.

Tenerife, with the temporary situation they were in, was an accident waiting their happen. I believe the KLM pilot, took off without a clearance. I don’t know if the field was W0X0F, but it was bad enough that the controller couldn’t see them, and stop them. I had to stop a few in my day.

At some point these airports will install gates across taxiways, starting with those that intersect runways.

I tend to think that won’t happen, from an ATC perspective. Operating gates, would be a non ATC function. USAF and FAA regulations, prohibit non ATC functions.
Sometimes the squadrons would call me and ask me to do somethings I was satisfied with. I called the CATCO, and he said he would handle it. I never heard another word about it. It was a non ATC function. 👍
