So many Disney employees already wear gay apparel it became meaningless
Disney Groomers...
“We’re Three Caballeros, Three Gay Caballeros” used to be a fun song that they ruined when they changed the meaning of gay .
> “Don we now our gay apparel” became “Don we now our cozy sweaters” <
Not good enough. I mentioned this to a friend of mine who happens to be named Don. He doesn’t want to be associated with any of this Disney trash.
Therefore, he is demanding that Disney change the wording to “Put on now our cozy sweaters”.
I think my friend has a point here.
I dunno. If Mustache Boy is still wearing a dress at the Bibbety Bobbety Botique I’d say they have a way to go.
So Disney “Won’t say ‘gay’”?
How many under 30 even KNOW this usage of?
“Don”
“Gay”
“Apparel”
Disney has become quite niggardly with verbiage.
Don Corleone would like a word wit dese guys.
Older folks might remember the Pogo version:
Deck us all with Boston Charlie
Walla walla, Wash., an’ Kalamazoo!
Nora’s freezin’ on the trolley
Swaller dollar cauliflower alley’garoo!
Don’t we know archaic barrel
Lullaby lilla boy, Louisville Lou?
Trolley Molly don’t love Harold
Boola boola Pensacoola hullabaloo!
Bark us all bow-wows of folly
Polly welly cracker n’ too-da-loo!
Donkey Bonny brays a carol
Antelope Cantaloup, ‘lope with you!
Hunky Dory’s pop is lolly gaggin’ on the wagon
Willy, folly go through!
Chollie’s collie barks at Barrow
Harum scarum five alarum bung-a-loo!
Duck us all in bowls of barley
Ninky dinky dink an’ polly voo!
Chilly Filly’s name is Chollie
Chollie Filly’s jolly chilly view halloo!
Bark us all bow-wows of folly
Double-bubble, toyland trouble! Woof, Woof, Woof!
Tizzy seas on melon collie!
Dibble-dabble, scribble-scrabble! Goof, Goof, Goof!
Who says don anymore to mean putting on clothes?
I just remember Guy Caballero.
“Who says don anymore to mean putting on clothes?”
A few years ago I was involved in a matter related to putting on and taking off protective clothing for radiation remediation. Taking it off is as important as putting it on, because the outside will be contaminated. They used the terms “donning” and “doffing”. I thought it was dorky.
Just within the past month, I learned something which should have been immediately obvious, but didn’t clue in until it was pointed out: “Don” and “Doff” are just the words “On” and “Off” with a “D” in front.
They are so stupid.
Don we now our faggy garments…
