Priest Claims Jesus Was a Palestinian Jew Live on CNN, Then Gets Torn to Shreds
Western Journal ^ | 12/27/23 | Warner Todd Hudson

A CNN contributor who claims to be a Catholic priest made the dual false claims on the air that Jesus was a “Palestinian” and that he was “homeless.”

Father Edward Beck appeared on CNN early on Christmas morning and made the effort to link the birth of Christ to the current confrontation going on in Gaza between the nation of Israel and the terrorists of Hamas. But instead of being praised for an uplifting message, the commentator faced an intense backlash for being so embarrassingly wrong about the birth and lineage of Jesus Christ.

During the segment, Beck was asked about the “pain and suffering” taking place all over the world this year and was asked to speak to those feeling “hopeless” in these tumultuous times, the New York Post reported. He replied by speaking of the birth of Christ.

I think the message of Christmas is that God enters into it with us and we’re not alone in it,” Beck said.

“What I’m so struck by is that the story of Christmas is about a Palestinian Jew — how often do you find those words put together? A Palestinian Jew born into a time when his country was occupied, right?” Beck absurdly claimed.

“They can’t find a place for her to even give birth, his mother. They’re homeless. They eventually have to flee as refugees into Egypt, no less. I mean, you can’t make up the parallels to our current world situation right now,” he rambled on

Technically, Jesus was born in Palestine. Thing is, it wasn't called Palestine until the Romans named it such 200 yrs after the birth of Jesus. This crap is from the same leftist ideology that smugly tells us G-D is dead and mocks Jesus as an imaginary friend, until they need favors them. Jesus is also a socialist. Jesus was an undocumented immigrant. He was homeless, trans, woke. Whatever the current thing is.

The Branch of Jesse is not a palestinian.

Well, there is the fact that throughout the history of Western Civilization, Jesus has been depicted as pale.

Back in the day there was an corny attraction at Knotts Berry Farm, an imitation of a chapel, where you could sit and listen to what was purported to be a description of Our Lord recorded by a fictional Roman officer.

And — you guessed it — Jesus had blonde hair and blue eyes.

Matthew 8:20

And Jesus says to him, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the heaven have nests, but the Son of Man does not have a place where He may lay His head”.

Jesus most certainly was a Jew. He was born in the region of the world we now call Palestine (which is larger than just the Gaza Strip and the West Bank - it actually includes the modern nations of Jordan and Israel), so it technically Jesus could be said to be a Palestinian Jew.

Of course to make an equivalence between Jesus and modern Palestinian Arabs is completely historically inaccurate and intentionally dishonest. The ancestors of modern Palestinian Arabs came to the land more than 600 years after Jesus lived, during the Muslim conquest

It was named Palestine by a Roman emporer to irritate the Jews. Palesinians had been extinct for around 1000 years at that time.

“ they were homeless”

There is no shame in being homeless like Mary and Joseph were. It happened to my family when I was a kid. Living out of the car, sleeping in a tent, on the ground. Going from place to place on almost a daily basis. Dad tried to make us feel better by calling them ‘camping trips’

Happened every summer! Loved it!

I don’t remember that.

Was the ‘chapel’ Independence hall?

🤠

Was that a weird little corner of the universe, or what?

Knott’s, the Pottery Shack, and the alligator farm.

Something for everybody!

Dec.25, 2022 The Grio website:
Jesus was Black. Period.
OPINION: Jesus was Black, that’s reality, and it’s healthier for Black people to be Black-centric, which includes rejecting the whitewashed image of our brother Jesus....
Jesus was one of the most important people of the century, and it would be valuable if the world understood that he was Black. The whitening of Jesus by the European church is one of the biggest intellectual thefts of the century. They stole the identity of Jesus and rebranded him, which helped pave the way for white supremacy.

Whenever someone says Jesus was a socialist, I remember a statement made to me many years ago. Not as eloquent but you’ll get the message.
Jesus gave away everything he had to the poor. He encouraged people to give away their worldly goods. Not government forcing you and taking away your worldly goods to give to others.

The family line of Mary is given in LUKE. Don’t see any Palestines(Philistines) in there.

The family line of Joseph is given in Matthew. You will notice that one of his ancestors was Jeconias(Jeconiah) who’s children would never become kings.

Jeremiah chapter 22:“Record this man as if childless, a man who will not prosper in his lifetime, for none of his offspring will prosper, none will sit on the throne of David or rule anymore in Judah” (verse 30).

I remember Jan Crouch of the Trinity Broadcasting System hustling her audience for money with that description. Send in money and she would send that description of Jesus.

If I remember my art history that “description” was made up sometime in the middle ages to give artists an idea of how to make Jesus look.

Matthew 13:King James Bible
Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
He obviously had some place to stay at times. Even St Paul lived in “his own hired house” for two years in Rome.

Matthew 2:21 (NKJV)
Then he arose, took the young Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel.

It amazes me that someone who is supposed to know the scriptures could not read them and read that Jesus was in the land of ISRAEL. There may be a reference to Palestine on a map in the back of a Bible but the scriptures do not support Jesus being a “Palestinian”.
