Christmas can be a difficult time and a lonely time. There’s a difference between being alone and being lonely.
I’ve lived in New Mexico alone without my wife after separating from her five and a half years ago (we’re still married). Sometime since then, my pastor, Joseph Prince, said something that helped me a lot:
“The cure to loneliness is to be alone with Jesus.”
I have found that to be true. He’s the best friend I’ve ever had for these 55 years of knowing him. He never condemns you or makes you feel guilty, he’s always on your side, faithful to the end, and (I’m not real sure about this) even laughs at your jokes.
God bless and have a wonderful day

Yes. Cancer survivor here, never in a relationship, yet not healthy enough to go and see my family, or whatโs left of it.
And many of the contributions to this thread have been so utterly heartbreaking ๐
I wish you all His blessings and a lot of comfort. You are all in my prayers ๐๐ป
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted (Matth. 5, 4).
Those that sow in tears, shall reap in joy. They go forth and weep, bearing precious seed, but shall reap in joy, bringing their sheaves with them (Ps. 126, 5-6).
Looks like I’m posting number 285 — so, there’s quite few of us, it seems.
My soulmate, “Eda”, passed away of very bad cancer on August 29th. 43 years. We are both 79.
My first Christmas alone. “Lonely” has an all-new Meaning to me now.
There’s Fred the cat (and love sponge. Thank God for him...) American shorthair “tuxedo cat. Eda picked him out at the rescue center.
One day at a time...
I hope Heaven is a place of endless forgiving and love, and we’ll be together again.
Else... What’s a Heaven for?
May God bless and sustain all who read this.
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas FRiend. I was with family both nights, but perhaps you might find a good audio book to help in breaking some of the silence, when the movie concludes.
We made this. An FR original.

Well... I was doing an emergency roof repair until a bit after midnight on Christmas Eve, then it was a 90 minute drive home. Then “decompress” and wonder when my legs will fall off, while wifey was watching a movie on her laptop.
Christmas Day was ok though. :-)
Not all day alone, but definitely by bedtime at the house.
Nothing wrong with that. I like to remember the old Merry Melodies Sniffles cartoon where he tried to stay awake for Santa. That’s me!
This thread is a blessing. I am going to reread it tonight.
Bless you all Freepers!
The best of the Day of Christmas and Grace’s of the New Year!
How was your Christmas? I woke up sick, and spent the day sleeping, until my son came by. I posted, because I saw keyword aloneagainnaturally. I liked that song.
Testing new keyboard MERRY NEW YEAR!!!
