GOP Representative Tim Burchett sat for an interview with Benny Johnson this week.
During the interview Burchett said conservative lawmakers are being blackmailed after being caught naked in a bed with a honeypot. That’s why they are voting so crazy.
Rep. Tim Burchett: You got powerful people and they write the big checks. Well let’s be honest and powerful people in this country, they write the big checks and they’re the ones out on the tarmac when the president comes and visits. And whichever party they’re in, they always either out on the tarmac or in the private room. They’re the ones that write the big checks. They don’t care who’s in, they hate this country, they hate what we’re about. But they love their portfolios and they love their money more than they do anything else. And they protect it. And they protect the people that do that. And by doing you know the old honeypot, the Russians do that. And I’m sure members of Congress have been caught up.
Why in the world would good conservatives vote for crazy stuff like what we’ve been seeing out of Congress? Here’s how it works. You’re visiting. You’re out of the country or out of town, or you’re in a motel or bar in DC, and whatever you’re into, women or men or whatever comes up and they’re very attractive and they’re laughing at your jokes and you’re buying them a drink. Next thing you know you’re in the motel room with them naked and next thing you know you’re about to make a key vote and what happens?
Some well dressed person comes up and whispers in your ear hey man, there’s tapes out on you. Were you in a motel room? On whatever with whoever. And then you’re like Uh-oh and they say you really ought not be voting for this thing. And what do they do? It’s human nature. And no man, or no woman actually is an island and they know what to get at. If it’s women, drugs booze. It’ll find you in DC and in most elected offices. And that’s what people of power and influence do. And it’s just. I’ve been in this game my whole life. I’ve spent 16 years in the state legislature in Tennessee and eight years as a county mayor. And now I’m in my fifth year of Congress. But the stakes are higher, but the game is still the same.

Beware of the red head hooker at the bar that does not look like one.
Hopefully people in public office will have some morals and ethics , so they won’t go to motel rooms with someone who isn’t their spouse.
I’m sure there is blackmail that happens behind the scenes. That would explain some things.
How does one not know by at least age 30, that if you’re an ordinary looking dude, and you suddenly have the prettiest girl in the bar chatting you up and potentially going back to your (or her) room for the night, that you are a target?
He is absolutely right.
Just because it’s not the cold war anymore doesn’t mean there aren’t a dozen nation states, dozens more of politically motivated NGOs, front groups, and even enemies made along the way, that don’t play dirty. The honeytrap is such an old, and reliable trick.
If you are celebrity, you’re notably wealthy, and if you especially politically influential, you’re just asking for what you get when you hook up with a complete stranger.
An “attractive stranger” sure beats the hell out of a Red Chinese spy.
And just six weeks ago, we were discussing "Feds Bust 'High-End' DC-Area Brothels With Politician Clients."
Might there be a connection?
“NGOs, front groups, and even enemies made along the way,”
Yes, all possible. But most likely DEMOCRATS. Notice how this influences conservatives to abandon their principles, but it never works the other way. Of course, Democrats have no morals or principles, so how would you know if they abandoned anything?
I had a friend who had been a contractor for decades with TS then Q, clearances. He was always on high alert for any situation that looked a least bit suspicious in this regard.
It goes on ALL THE TIME.
Anyhow, I wonder about Johnson.
Groupthink around here is to hate Mike Pence.
Whatever.
He still had (has?) absolutely the right policy as to being alone with women other than his wife.
“Notice how this influences conservatives to abandon their principles,”
Not all conservatives are moralistic religious right types and even those are human. If this is true (and I am not saying it is) than it is all the more reason why these very wealthy powerful people who would be behind this need to pay more taxes and I mean a lot more.
Some guys think with the big head.
Some guys think with the little head. Little head thinking will always get you in trouble.
Advice to travelers, especially business travelers: Find a way to maintain accountability with your coworkers, as well as your spouse.
Somehow I have this vision of Ron DeSantis wearing nothing but a Speedo, leather vest, and high-heeled women’s boots … tied up in the back room of a exotic Miami nightclub that doesn’t open until 2AM. :-P
Yep, that’s how politics is played in the grand ol’ USSA.
Your objection is irrelevant.
Perhaps he was not following his own advice. That’s on him. It’s also pure speculation on your part.
The advice, the policy, is still good.
And thank you for demonstrating the FR groupthink.
“Pence ... He still had (has?) absolutely the right policy as to being alone with women other than his wife.”
I always believed that his wife once busted him with some hussy and laid down the LAW.
You have a filthy mind.
Again, pure unfounded speculation on your part, and irrelevant in any case.
The policy is sound.
Thank you for demonstrating FR groupthink.
