I took ‘afraid to debate’ as the meaningful line. Certainly, he is not willing to debate. Whether fear has anything to do with that is debatable. Where Trump goes to avoid the confrontations in my mind is equivalent to the Brandon working from his basement ridicule that was prevalent in 2020.
I took Chip Roy using that line to ridicule as a mirror to Trump’s preferred mode of attack. Not a lie.
At least no one from any of Trump’s opposition called Melania a c**t.

Selective outrage, I see...

Make an issue out of one point, and ignore everything else that is wrong seems to be something the happens with desantis supporters.

So it’s okay to support roy for attacking Trump for not debating, and ignore roy attacking Trump on not securing the border.

When roy then goes on to say everyone should be ‘compassionate’ in supporting the illegal aliens that get into the country ‘because they are human beings who are suffering’.

Kind of two faced there....

The “afraid to debate” is an opinion at best, and a talking point at worst.

A Leftist talking point.
