A troubling new COVID subvariant is on the rise just in time for the holidays, officials have warned.
The JN.1 subvariant – when stems of the omicron variant that surged in early 2022 – is “rapidly increasing globally,” the World Health Organization (WHO) declared Tuesday.
JN.1 is now causing about 20 percent of new coronavirus infections in the US, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated.
The variant evolved from BA.2.86, a descendent of the omicron variant that made headlines over the summer when scientists worried that it might mutate beyond the capacity of vaccines and antibodies, CNN reported.

” 20 percent of new coronavirus infections “
Doesn’t that, by definition, include common colds?

Fear porn
Must keep the plebes in constant fear to maintain control
Global Warming, Russia, COVID, AIDS, Zita virus, dengue, yellow fever, Japanese encephalitis, and West Nile viruses
There is a fear for every taste and every season.

Th3y are likely gonna jack the numbers up by including flu viruses and claiming that common flues are covid now to justify reinstating mask and distancing rules again. They can claim anything they like- how are folks going to find out different? They flat out lied about deaths during covid- claiming that many deaths unrelated to covid were caused by covid simp,y because the person died WITH covid, not from covid

20 percent of new coronavirus infections Let’s of course not mention that most of the population have now already had a coronavirus infection, so, there would be very few people that have a NEW infection.
People who are reinfected with a new variant are unlikely to have a severe infection as they have acquired natural immunity.

Well, everybody has it.
The question is, if we think it’s important to screen for SARS CoV 2 when someone has a cold, why are we not screening for the other four (OC43, 229E, NL63, HKU1) in common circulation?
It’s been 13 months since I saw the last patient with COVID-19 pneumonia caused by SARS CoV 2.
