The campaign of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis launched a faux website called TrumpNikki2024.com in an attempt to paint his chief primary challengers as being in cahoots on a plan to be the Republican presidential ticket in 2024.
The DeSantis campaign asserts that the duo of front-runner Donald Trump and his former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley are ganging up on DeSantis while running on a platform of MEGA — "Make the Establishment Great Again."

I can only guess he’s trying to pander to Democrat votes, eventually.
It’s Jeb!-worthy.
Please clap.
This is grade-school playground stuff.
Seriously, junior high school kids could run a better campaign. So where are all of Rons backers cheering this on? Off trashing Trump on another FR thread? Probably.
That isn’t remotely the issue here.
Here are some of Haley’s past comments about Trump, which should “cast shade” on the DeSantis campaign assertions that they’re allies.
***********
Jan. 13, 2016: In her response to then-President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address, Haley urged Americans not to follow “the siren call of the angriest voices.” The next day she told TODAY that Trump was one of the voices to whom she was referring, saying, “Mr. Trump has definitely contributed to what I think is just irresponsible talk.”
Feb. 16, 2016: Haley said she had not decided who to endorse in the GOP primary, but she wouldn’t be backing Trump, saying he is “everything a governor doesn’t want in a president.”
Feb. 29, 2016: At a rally for GOP Sen. Marco Rubio, who Haley had endorsed in the primary, Haley said of Trump, “I will not stop until we fight a man that chooses not to disavow the K.K.K. That is not a part of our party. That is not who we are,” according to the New York Times.
Jan. 7, 2021: Haley said at the Republican National Committee’s winter meeting that Trump “ was badly wrong with his words yesterday. And it wasn’t just his words. His actions since Election Day will be judged harshly by history.”
Jan. 12, 2021: In an interview with Politico, Haley said of Trump, “We need to acknowledge he let us down. He went down a path he shouldn’t have, and we shouldn’t have followed him, and we shouldn’t have listened to him. And we can’t let that ever happen again.”
April 12, 2021: Haley told the Associated Press that she would support Trump if he runs for president again saying, “I would not run if President Trump ran, and I would talk to him about it.”
Jan. 19, 2023: Even after Trump had jumped into the race, Haley did not rule out a run for the White House herself, telling Fox News, “So do I think I could be that leader? Yes, But we are still working through things and we’ll figure it out. I’ve never lost a race. I said that then I still say that now. I’m not going to lose now.”

But you can’t defeat Democrat chaos with Republican chaos,” she said in the debate. “And that’s what Donald Trump gives us.”
Dec. 18, 2023
But if you look at what’s happening now, the part that bothers me is our national security is at risk. And what’s he doing? He’s praising dictators.”

She said Trump had effectively managed trade with China, while failing to address major issues with Chinese spies and the illegal flow of fentanyl into the country.
“And yes, did we have a good economy when he was there? We sure did,” Haley said. “You know how we got it? He put us $8 trillion in debt in four years. Our kids are never gonna forgive us for that. It was a price to pay.”

The DeSantis & Haley campaigns are sitting at a poker table with limited money, bad cards, and plenty of skeptics who aren’t buying what they’re selling. Meanwhile, the 45th President has a Royal Flush and an extra card deck up his sleeve to handle the inexperienced upstarts.

Put a fork in him. His campaign is seriously incompetent.
The more we see from DeSantis, the more creepy it gets. If this jerk would have just shut up and sat down and did his good governing job and waited until the next round he would have saved his political career, but instead he decided to let people talk him into destroying it. What a goober.
“Mom! They’re ganging up on me.”
Did that Jeff Roe guy get replaced by a 14 year old?
as a Florida native and resident I am getting tired of DeSantis making a fool out of himself over and over. thought at one time he would be a good man for President but now I’m seeing that he really isn’t as good of a man as he appeared to be. sad.
Looks like his special, version of the Russia Collusion crap.
OK - who here still supports Ronnie?
C’mon, Man! We know you’re out there...
I remember back in the mid-Nineties I was looking for a new car, and was going to look at buying an American car. So I ended up looking at Saturns, which I found conceptually attractive. Liked their showroom attitude (they didn’t fully engage me with a salesman until I engaged them) the way they marketed their cars, and the cars themselves.
But I was also looking at buying a Ford, mainly Torinos, and went to a Ford dealership. So, as soon as I entered the showroom, there was a salesman on me like white on rice. Okay. I was shopping and wanted to do some comparisons, so this was acceptable to me.
In the opening sentence, I said I was looking at features to compare to other manufacturers whose products I was also considering. He asked what other brands, and I said Saturn.
He immediately started berating the Saturn product in a very strident way. Every time I tried to steer him back to talk about a Ford Torino model, he would go right back to disparaging the Saturn brand.
If he had said “Ford offers X, and Saturn doesn’t” or “The Torino has this feature, and it is better than the Saturn implementation because...” I would have been fine.
But it was along the line of “Saturn doesn’t know how to build cars. Their engines are this bad. The finish on the cars is inferior...” etc.
I walked out.
If you have a product, you should sell it. There is nothing inherently bad with disparaging a competitor, but when that is your main selling point, or even your only selling point, then I suspect your product.
And so it is with DeSantis. The only thing he seems to project is disparagement of Trump.
It is absolutely true that Trump disparages his opponents as well, but that is a byline, or even a form of personal entertainment for him to ply his supporters with, not the majority (or even ALL) of the planks that make up his platform.
I think it is a bad move by the DeSantis campaign, IMO.
No doubt he has plenty of things he could feature to sell his campaign, but since he sees the customers largely are not buying, he is resorting to things like this faux campaign against a prospective Trump-Haley ticket. It doesn’t even have the overtone of possibility (I don’t see Trump doing this in any form) so it reeks more of desperation.
There are NO wheels left on that crazy DeSwampus bus, to fall off.
It’s upside down, and, stuck in the muck, Jim.
This guy is certifiable. Seriously whacked.
Elementary Grade school stuff.
