Leaders of the Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM) — which openly calls for the Lone Star State to secede from the United States and become an independent nation again — appear to have surpassed the threshold to put a secession ballot initiative on the 2024 Republican primary ballot this March..

It would make more sense to wait and see if the Federal election is rigged again.

It’s the precinct map from 2016. A lot of those S Texas counties switched to Trump in 2020.

Ignoring U.S. law, in order to eschew U.S. law, makes Congress a tad irrelevant.

The biggest hurdle is that with gutless RINOS like Dade Phelan, (SotH), Abbott and Patrick, the chances of this seeing the light of day are slim to none.

The bigger question is who is going to ship all the Californians from Texas? In my neck of the woods, we’re overrun with nest sh*tters.

Unfortunately, what they’ll take to their new abode is their relative conservatism....what passed as conservative in the state they abandoned is a far cry from red state conservatism.

They can learn.
What might actually trip them up would be the mandatory firearm ownership laws.
If they meet the residency requirements of 18 years prior to enactment they should be allowed to take the loyalty oath.
If they are just arriving from out of the country it will be eight years continuous residence, property owner and passing the Republic of Texas Citizenship exam with a score of at least 80% correct answers out of 100 questions and a reviewed essay of 2500 words minimum THEN they will be allowed to take the loyalty oath.
Gaining citizenship in the Republic of Texas will be serious business and no, not everyone will make the grade.
If they don’t make it there will be no voting in any elections and no government benefits of any kind, what few that will actually exist.

This would destroy our country.

If Texas secedes, then they cannot vote in federal elections.
Many people without U.S. citizenship have been voting in U.S. elections in recent years. It's not that they cannot vote. It's that they may not vote legally. It's become an unimportant matter of late, especially if they vote for the "right" candidate.

At least there’s one sensible state.
Get out before the whole thing collapses into ruin.
Well SCOTUS refused to hear the Texas v. Pennsylvania brought under its original jurisdiction, and that was constitutionally required to have been heard. So, there was a breach of contract by SCOTUS. By seceding, Texas could finally secure its border without getting grief from the elitist federal courts.

Only Texas can articulate why it has the option, the power, to secede.
IIRC, it was part of the negotiations by which Texas became a U.S. state to begin with. And it appears in the law by which Congress declared Texas a state.

That point is in dispute.
No, it's not:
"Public ministers of every class, are the immediate representatives of their sovereigns. All questions in which they are concerned, are so directly connected with the public peace, that as well for the preservation of this, as out of respect to the sovereignties they represent, it is both expedient and proper, that such questions should be submitted in the first instance to the highest judicatory of the nation. The Federalist and Anti-Federalist Papers are great reads.
