I completely agree with you, but I was replying to a person who stated that slugs were not accurate after 50 yds. I believe that the purpose of a handgun in a house is to enable you to get your shotgun. I personally have mine loaded with 6 shot. A little bit more penetration. Not much, but some.

Having said that, if you hit someone with even 9 shot at 30 feet, I believe that the bad guy will live, but the fight will be over and the bad guy will be disfigured for life.
