But other than that, sure, lets field only-black, only-asian, only-white, only-Samoan teams. Separate leagues, separate stadiums, and keep the cheerleaders racially pure to their teams.

Norman Spinrad wrote a science fiction story about 50 years ago in which pro football teams and their fans organized themselves according to ethnic and cultural subgroups rather than geographic locations. There was a black team, a redneck team, a biker team, and so forth. A game's statistics would include deaths and injuries among the fans in the stands.
I can't remember the story's title, but it was funny as hell.
