The top strategist for the embattled super PAC backing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis ' campaign for the White House resigned Saturday night in the latest sign of trouble for the GOP hopeful less than one month before voting begins with Iowa’s kickoff caucuses.
Jeff Roe, the top adviser to Never Back Down, is the latest senior staffer to exit Never Back Down, which has been the largest outside group supporting DeSantis’ candidacy.
The Associated Press reported earlier this week on growing concern among some within DeSantis’ operation that interactions between his campaign and his network of outside groups were blurring the lines of what’s legally permissible.
Weighing in on his social media site from Las Vegas, where he is watching a UFC fight, Trump late Saturday cheered the news. “Jeff Roe is out—GAME OVER for DeSanctimonious!” he wrote.

predicted he was likely next when scott wagner, who roe almost got in a fight with, became ceo
🤣
Trump is like the death star. There's no room for anyone else under his orbit.
Oh yeah.... forgot....
desantis will win IA and NH, then he’ll show up Trump
the polls don’t mean anything.... desantis will win the primaries and become president
there has to be someone to be backup in case something happens to Trump, and that person is desantis
with a the neverbackdown super pac’s ground game .... err who left?..... nevermind......
Ha, one thing Jeff Roe knows is how to pick a loser!
If Jeff Roe were any good as a “strategist” he would have counselled DeSantis to ignore the advice and blandishments of Karl rove and the Trump hating Bush family, tolerate Trump’s eccentrics, become the VP in 2024 and more than likely the President in 2028. Now his political career is in ruins. Whoever Trump chooses as his VP, the ticket will never be as formidable as it should have been.
Thanks for playing, Rob. DeSantis’ internal polls are worse than the public polls. That’s why everyone quit tonight.
Great work @ChristinaPushaw and the DeSantis “influencers.” You destroyed Rob’s future. https://t.co/EonDBiTIMF— Alex Bruesewitz 🇺🇸 (@alexbruesewitz) December 17, 2023
Yep. The ‘inside’ info is even worse than the the consultants scamming DeSantis admit. Scott Walker likely has a brighter political future than DeSantis. I thought both had promise. Sigh.
DeSantis gained notoriety because he had the Florida legislature ‘paving’ the way to each accomplishment. Governor and legislature were reading off the same script and delivering punch after punch. Without them, he’s just an average governor.
And the score card is....
Chris Jankowski - CEO
Adam Laxalt - Chairman neverbackdown
Kristin Davison - interim CEO
Erin Perrine - Communications director
Matt Palmisano - Director of operations
and now
Jeff Roe - Chief strategist
That’s the WINNING STRATEGY!
(Supposedly there is another person, but I don’t recall seeing who it was)
Jeff Roe made a fortune out of this candidacy.
He was never going to advise not to run.
I tend to agree.
In past times, an average governor would be a good choice, but not now.
Never Back Down
but scamper off the battlefield
Sad to say, but 12 jurors and a few crazed prosecutors (or a blond seeking bucks) will have more say regarding the presidency than about 80 million Americans,.
Yep, almost all the media spending went through roe’s company, axiom strategies or a subsiduary...
Probably about 40-45 million based on what was said about spending for media in articles...
Jeff Roe, the top adviser to Never Back Down
We prefer a lion, but better a tomcat than a donkey.
The 12th Amendment could become a problem if DeSantis was on a ticket with Trump.
WIKI
Ted Cruz’s victory in the 2016 Republican Iowa caucus put Roe into the spotlight. Roe was credited as “the architect of Cruz’s first-place finish.”

DeSanctis, it’s time to “back down”. This campaign is quick sand, and you are a good governor. Go back to Florida while people still remember that.
