RE: Like Haley, she’s clueless about America.
What did she say or do to make you think that?
“4. Dual citizenship.”
Not a single person with dual citizenship should be allowed to hold office in the USA. Split loyalty is the last thing we need.
I wouldn’t disqualify a candidate from consideration just because he or she was once registered as a Democrat — based on the examples you cited. But this is a giant red flag when the candidate in question is a career politician with no record of accomplishing anything outside politics.
RE: I hope I’m wrong but reportedly she was once a democrat.
Consider Donald Trump:
1987: Registered as a Republican in Manhattan.
1999: Switched to the Independence Party of New York.
2001: Changed his affiliation to the Democratic Party.
2009: Switched back to the Republican Party.
2011: Registered as no party affiliation (independent).
2012: Returned to the Republican Party again.
It’s important to note that Trump’s political positions have also evolved over time. While he was a Democrat, he often expressed views that aligned more with the Republican Party on certain issues. For example, in a 2004 interview, he said, “In many cases, I probably identify more as Democrat,” but he also criticized the Republican Party and expressed support for some Democratic policies.
So, for me, the issue is not where she was registered before, but her ideas NOW!
She is currently a Nassau county legislator, let’s look at her CURRENT legislative record instead.
“What did she say or do to make you think that?”
If, by “she”, you mean this NY chick, she doesn’t need to say or do anything. Her background and resume are aren’t suitable to help create and maintain a strong America.
Just dual citizenship is a deal breaker.
so she’s a registered dem running as a republican?
her Wikipedia page still lists her as a dem as of just now. not that is a good source, but think about all the people who are researching her now.
Dual citizenship should not even exist.
Look at the nitwit she’s running to replace. That guy wasn’t vetted even though he had previously run unsuccessfully two years before he was elected.
RE: So I list six items, and “only” four of them are major concerns to you?
Yes, being foreign born does not necessary mean you will love America and her founding principles any less than being born in this country. Heck, a lot of our native born politicians hate thus country.
My main concern is what she believes NOW. What are her stances on spending, crime, taxes, the border crisis, immigration, big government, etc. In other words, does she seriouly adhere to our constitution?
Even if she is conservative, she will happily work to move the entire population of Ethiopia to the US.
Sorry … the time to VET her …
So she’s need to pull off an AOC then, really turn out the vote and hope the normies assume that Suozzi has it locked up and stay home.
“believes that through education, you can achieve a lot and you can integrate into the society.”
I hope she means that a student can achieve by acquiring skills and then getting a good job.
RE: The time to get her was BEFORE she was nominated by the party leadership to run in special election that is less than two months away.
And how do you know she hasn’t been vetted?
As for the clown she wants to replace, I looked at his voting record in congress, he was relatuvely SOLID. Although I dont condone his lying and believe that kicking him out woukd have been the right thing to do (albeit premature), his voting record was MUCH BETTER than the candidate he defeated.
RE: Even if she is conservative, she will happily work to move the entire population of Ethiopia to the US
What did she say to make you think that?
Suitable compared to whom? Hakeem Jeffries and Nancy Pelosi are both born citizens. Are either of them, or one of their stooges and lackeys, more suitable to maintain a strong America? Because THIS is what she'll likely be running against, at least in the general election.
“Dual citizenship should not even exist.”
I wonder how that even started. Whose bright idea was it? Just one more thing to weaken the fiber of America. A cousin to diversity.
Stop kidding yourself. If this woman was Muslim from Somalia who was a dual French and American citizen with a stint in the French military on her resume, every Freeper on this thread would consider these to be disqualifying attributes if she was running as a DEMOCRAT.
Indeed the democrat stench lingers.
She’s also a citizen of Israel. I would have every expectation that she’d happily work to move the entire population of Gaza here, too.
Right now I’m at “Hell no” to about the 35th power on this one.
