A New York appeals court has again upheld a gag order that bars Donald Trump from commenting about court personnel in his civil fraud trial, ruling Thursday that the former president’s lawyers used the wrong legal mechanism to fight the restriction.
A four-judge panel in the state’s mid-level appellate court ruled Thursday that Trump’s lawyers erred by suing trial Judge Arthur Engoron, who imposed the gag order in October after Trump disparaged his law clerk.
Instead, the appellate judges wrote, Trump’s lawyers should’ve followed the normal appeals process by asking Engoron to reverse the gag order and then, if denied, fighting that decision in a higher court.
State lawyers have supported the restriction, saying it was a reasonable step to protect Engoron’s staff. A lawyer for the court system tied Trump’s comments to an uptick in nasty calls and messages directed at the judge and law clerk.

How about he can say whatever he wants about anybody and especially partisan hacks. Nobody elected them but they got hired and are damaged and prejudiced against him.
The court staff has little, if any, policy making ability and no discretion as to what cases or judges they’re assigned to.
Oh that matters not to the almighty government. Back in the nineties when I worked for a local Housing Authority as a lowly clerk, I experienced persecution at a microcosmic level that President DJT is going through.
I had the NERVE to purchase a rental property that had a subsidized voucher holder in it (who was a terrible tenant and broke the lease every 3 months). I fully expected her to move out and all would be good.
The Housing Authority big wigs (who themselves get investigated for fraud every other year) deemed that this was a “conflict of interest” and proceeded to go after me legally for over a year. Then when I left, (forced me out) they blackballed me from gainful employment for another year after that resulting in me having to change my career completely and I ended up filing bankruptcy and foreclosing on two Class D rentals.
Of course I had to pay for my own legal services as a divorced mom with two kids but they had unlimited legal funds to throw at me.
they also bribed the terrible tenant to stay in my house for much longer than she otherwise would have and not pay me any rent for her (went on for about 8 months). She finally left in winter with the windows smashed and a puppy left behind.
Write that same statement about unelected federal bureaucrats and read it to yourself.

Worth repeating!!
This is just flat out incorrect. The judge picks his staff and typically they are of the same ideological mindset.
The staff are deep state hacks who campaigned for thr AG. Seems pretty darn relevant.
I have a family member and several friends who work in the NYS Courts. They are all hardcore Republicans, in civil service positions, who found themselves assigned to a democrat (elected) judge. You simply do not know what you are talking about.

Duh ya think it’s what it’s all about.
Trump can say whatever the heck he wants. Stuff it!
