I don’t rack to warn. There’s always one in the chamber, and they’ll never hear the safety moving to fire.
I don't even have to worry about taking a safety off. My Glock is all set to go bang with the squeeze of the trigger.
Same here, and I don’t bother with the safety, my wife knows that all guns are loaded with a round chambered, including pistols and rifles and no safety; JUST POINT AND CLICK.
Yeah I know I am about to take a lot of hell for not putting the safety’s on in this forum, but my wife’s arthritis makes it almost impossible to operate that tiny switch or lever.
We both have been shooters all our lives including our time in the service, me in the Marines and her in the Army.
We both know the destructive power we can bring to bear if necessary, all the guns go in the safe when guests are in the house except our personal carry guns which stay on our persons.
So for the safety addicts out there FLAME AWAY.
IMO, the average Joe should never give up their position. Get to a safe place where you have cover and hide until (if) you need to defend yourself with gun fire. On a good day, the threat will be eliminated and your garments will be unsoiled.
Yup. None of this “racking” nonsense. When it’s go time, you go.
AMEN

That could be a great line in a Country Western song. ;0)
All this nonsense about racking a round into the chamber is BS. Never disclose your location nor your intent. You should have a round already in the chamber then make sure the magazine is full.
Like you wrote; "...they'll never hear the safety..."
Same here. I also have a high intensity light on the barrel. I know it gives my position away once on, but while they fumble about with their little flashlights, this sucker lights up the entire downstairs living room and dining room and it is literally blinding anywhere its pointed. I’ve had the Wife try it on me with a basic flashlight, and by the time they positioned their weapons they would be splattered across the room with 00 buck. Yes, I check the batteries.
“I don’t rack to warn. There’s always one in the chamber, and they’ll never hear the safety moving to fire.”
Exactly. Same here.
