Wyoming’s energy ideas, technology and resources will step into the nation’s spotlight this weekend on the CBS news magazine “60 Minutes.”
Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon, Power Company of Wyoming CEO Bill Miller and University of Wyoming School of Energy Resources Executive Director Holly Krutka were interviewed by the television magazine.
A CBS trailer promoting the show depicts correspondent Bill Whitaker and Gordon on horseback riding across rangeland, mountains in the background.
“Growing up here gave me an enormous appreciation for the world,” Gordon says. The trailer cuts to a coal train heading down the tracks.
Gordon Surprises '60 Minutes'
Whitaker narrates as video segues to a coal train, gas-field pipe flame and wind turbines: “This rancher and Republican governor unsurprisingly stands by big coal, but he surprised us on just about everything else he believed around energy policy.”
Whitaker asks the governor about climate change and how he believes it is real and that it’s an “urgent” crisis.
“I have said that and gotten some pushback from that as well,” Gordon replies.
“I bet you have,” Whitaker laughed.

Hey Wyoming, lose this tool bag just like you did lizard Cheney.
Hey Wyoming, lose this tool bag just like you did lizard Cheney.
It amazes me how otherwise sane people can’t see how one-sided this whole “Climate Change” discussion is. That is not how science is supposed to work. Science is never settled! Debate must be encouraged, always.
But no counter-arguments to “Climate Change” are allowed. No debate is permitted. Doubters are mocked, and often cancelled. Just like in the old USSR.
This alone should be troublesome, and an enormous red flag.
Sorry about repeats....nothing appeared to happen with post.
TAX CHINA AND RUSSIA, THE 2 BIGGEST POLUTERS,AND LEAVE THE US ALONE!
Bears repeating.
Did the Governor of Wyoming demand that China cut its carbon footprint? If not he’s a BSer.
What a FIDIOT!
It better be not well liked especially if you own a coal mine.
Gordon is lying his way into the Wyoming record books to put it mildly and about as anti-coal as a governor should not be that understands what method of fueling electricity is with out doubt the least expensive and clean.
Just check out the duplicitous interaction Gordon has with Bill Gates and the small modular reactor being proposed and co-located with an operational coal fired plant that will be shut down when the SMR is operational.
This was announced over two years ago and at the time I said those ideas and actions by Governor Gordon tell us everything we need to know about the future of coal in Wyoming which is in decline as far as usage within the United States.

There are plenty of articles in Cowboy State Daily as well.
Been there. The moment that happens after the first hit on the return button, I bring up another copy of the thread in another window and look to see just what I suspected.
In this case I thought you made your point quite well!!!
Those politicians, like Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon, could not evaluate a scientific study on climate and atmospheric science if could save their life. With a B.A. degree in history, how could he?
As Governor, in November 2020, Gordon proposed $500 million in cuts to the Wyoming budget to account for declining revenue from the fossil fuel industry (particularly coal mining), which is crucial to Wyoming’s economy. I wonder what caused the decline? Perhaps Gordon hopped on the disastrous Negative Carbon train. Ideology without the science is an economic train wreck.
How many Asa Hutchinson’s/Charlie Crist’s does the Republican party have in its ranks?
Didn’t they recently try to ban or ban the sale of EVs in the state at some point in the future.
Every one of us could post all sorts of articles, pictures, videos, etc of evidence of all this BS. Getting so tiresome.
What’s even worse are the candidates that the people seemed to be forced to vote for. Save a very small handful, it seems like all of them are just completely full of sh*t.
Those in a political position to debate the Globul Warming by CO2 ideology do not have the scientific aptitude to debate this garbage. Without that aptitude, they become a punching bag easily popped.
Wyoming coal trains now go the West Coast shipping ports, not to the US coal fired power plants that have been shut down to the tune of over seventy gigawatts of power without replacement other than a few gas plants.
Far too many.
But, sadly, that all rests on the voters.
You could show up to a bbq and listen to folks talk about wanting a fighter and someone to stand up to all the BS. Come election time, the man/woman that will, might just a bit abrasive. And when the folks see and hear that ‘abrasiveness’ they get all squishy. And then those very same people will bitch and moan that the squish they voted for is a liar, turn coat, back stabber, blah blah blah blah, when they had the chance to get the barroom brawler.
It’s amazing.
If they were serious, they would provide numbers which none of these prop articles do.
The so called debate should have been over years ago.
Another scientist politician.
