WASHINGTON (AP) — Retiring Republican Rep. Kevin McCarthy, the ousted former House speaker, said he is endorsing Donald Trump for president and would consider serving in his Cabinet if the GOP front-runner were to win back the White House.
McCarthy had a rocky relationship with the former president, notably when he declined to publicly support Trump’s bid for a second term, despite being one of his earliest and most loyal allies. But they always seem to patch things up, and as McCarthy prepares to leave Congress he gave his nod.

I thought this was the Bee.
Did McCarthy vote to build the wall?
Balance the budget?
etc.?
Easier to stab him in the back.
No, I don’t think McCarthy worked to build the wall or balance the budget. But at least he did not backstab Trump.
Trump cabinet was all DC swampers .
Lefty Swamp King Kinda Grahnesty was his buddy .
He endorsed Kevin M .
I am not fooled by him .
He will hire more swampers and insiders .
He will not elected. He is too negative and has divided the Gop
and Drives the Dems to polls.
The CNN commentator job fell through.
Secretary of RINO services?
Next Christie/Barr deep-state spy
Sounds like the deep state recognizes trump is inevitable.
I expect to see future news from MCarthy: “As you know, I endorsed Trump back in December of 2023. I thought he had what it takes. But, as of his recent statements in June 2024, I can no longer in good conscience endorse this man. He is a danger to Our Democracy, and I am now endorsing Joe Biden as the only viable alternative ...”
In short, I suspect a setup being done now, so that a blow can be delivered later.
It’s a trap!!
Of course it is. Trump's only good move here, is to unequivocally renounce McCarthy's endorsement.
Why not, the toilets need cleaning.
McCarthy is an opportunist. He is also a traitor.
“He’s too negative.”
You make me laugh.
Saying you support Trump is no different than saying you support freedom in the US. So the FIRST THING he can do if he REALLY supports freedom is to serve out his term in Congress, as the House is far too closely split already (and no thanks to his vote* to remove George Santos).
*didn’t look it up, but I suspect he voted to remove Santos (correct me if necessary)
