Philadelphia City Council members voted last week to ban the wearing of ski masks in some public places.
Council members voted 13-2 to approve the bill, which allows the city to fine people $250 for wearing a ski mask, also called a balaclava, in parks, schools, day-care centers and city-owned buildings and on public transit. There are exceptions for religious expression and First Amendment activities such as protesting.
Progressive Councilmember Kendra Brooks of the Working Families Party and Democrat Jamie Gauthier voted against the bill. The ACLU also opposes the bill.

Won’t matter if they can still wear their covidiot masks.
And who do they think is going to enforce this stupid law? If I was a cop in Philly, I sure as hell wouldn’t be putting my life in danger in order to approach someone, and tell them to hand over their ski mask. Screw that! That’s as bad as during the lockdown, making cops go to homes during the holidays to make sure there weren’t too many people in the house.
Rudy Giuliani did this in NYC. It’s called “Broken Windows”.
This sounds like what a small child would think of as a good idea.
Criminals obey laws.
“Fellas, switch to COVID masks for your armed robberies, ski masks are illegal!”
Never mind that ARMED ROBBERY is illegal!

They always go for the same old, do nothing, feelgood crap. Every time.
how about letting the cops enforce the law?
Covid seemed to bring out the stupidity in so many people.
During the height of the Covid hysteria, banks in our area had up a typical sign on the door that read, “Do Not Wear Items That May Disguise Your Face: Hats, Caps, Sunglasses, Ski Masks, Other Head Coverings.”
Right next to that was another sign: “A Facemask is Required to Enter.”
The criminals have to rob a liquor store to get the $250 for the fine they will get for robbing a liqour store with a ski mask on.
Time for criminals to stock up on Covid-19 masks.

So the bad guys (at least those with half a brain) will wear a covid face-diaper (mask) and a pair of sunglasses.
