Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon issued an apology on Friday for her polemic, antisemitic comments made during a pro-Palestinian rally in New York City last month.
The incident led to her separation from top Hollywood talent agency UTA.
Sarandon, addressing the crowd at Union Square on Nov. 17, asserted that Jews were "getting a taste of what it is like to be Muslim in this country, so often subjected to violence."
The New York Post reported that she "intended" instead to express concern about the rise in hate crimes.
In an Instagram post, Sarandon said, "This phrasing was a terrible mistake, as it implies that until recently Jews have been strangers to persecution when the opposite is true."
She further recognized the historical oppression and religious violence endured by the Jewish community, citing instances from centuries past to recent events like the Tree of Life shooting in Pittsburgh.
Sarandon clarified that she had not intended to speak at the rally but was invited onstage to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and advocate for a cease-fire.
Expressing regret for diminishing the reality and the hurt caused by her comments, the Academy Award-winning actress acknowledged the enduring struggles faced by the Jewish community.
Following the backlash, Sarandon faced professional repercussions as UTA, her representation since 2014, severed ties with the actress. The agency reportedly took this action after several of its staffers expressed being "extremely hurt" by Sarandon's remarks.

Abu, on her jacket, was declared a racist stereotype a while ago.
Mrs Robbins is a year older than Hillary. So, not a ton of acting career left for her.
Fine but everyone still hates her
Sorry Suzy, but it seems you are too old, ugly and stupid to have even noticed that you are too old, ugly and stupid to matter anymore. Even in Hollywood.
Apologies are for clowns. If they didn’t mean it, they wouldn’t have said it in the first place.
Well said
An eloquent restatement of “with rights…comes equally as large responsibilities” in order to be truly free. Our civilization and country is built on the principle that righteous men and women limit themselves without enforcement of government or kings.
What has been lost is the thought of unfettered rights with no responsibility. Once this step is taken … I have the right to speak what I want but can force you to accept it without the natural consequence of someone else exercising his same right to disagree and remove a relationship, then there is tyranny based on whom controls the levers of power
One of my favorite quotes “though I loathe what you say, I’ll defend to the death your right to say it”.
Meh. That was a straight free choice contract between an old guy and starlet. They both got their needs met.
TOO LITTLE
TOO LATE
TOO INSINCERE
Maybe cancel culture will catch one of there big dogs to the point that they may rethink it...probably not
LOL
Susy done been canceled. Oh, nose! And she apologized. She’s doomed.

The kooks & crazies are everywhere & Sarandon is one of them.
It’s too bad, because I’ve always considered her a talented actress but a hack in politics.
The New York Post reported that she "intended" instead to express concern about the rise in hate crimes.
IOW, we need the BS meter GIF.
The only thing that this radical leftist bitch is sorry about is the fact that she got caught.
Maybe not today, but Hollywood was essentially founded by Jews.

I have never much liked this skanky bi*$h. She’s sorry now!
No less a personage than Jewish defense group ADL’s CEO, Jonathan Greenblatt, called out the Writers Guild for refusing to issue a statement supporting Israel. Greenblatt tells Variety, “Hollywood was quick to declare support for Black Lives Matter, as they should, and for Time’s Up (post Weinstein sexual assault group), as they should, and myriad other important causes,” Greenblatt emphasized.
BLM’s incendiary praise for Hamas’s murderous terror attack was anti-Semitic in the extreme: “BLM stands in solidarity with our Palestinian family who are currently resisting Israel’s 57 years of “settler colonialism and apartheid,” the organization affirmed. BLM said they see “clear parallels” between oppression of Black and Palestinian people.
Also, Greenblatt did not seem concerned that a liberal sexual-assault group director was fired for signing a letter written by various sexual assault organizations that blatantly denied Israeli women were sexually violated by Hamas terrorists.
Hollywood power players are so amazing.
It was awesome when Shari Redstone in her “profound grief” over the Hamas attack on her beloved country of Israel, to see Redstone was still able to summon up riffs on diversity, virtue signalling, and assorted other liberal shibboleths.
Redstone’s media empire includes MTV and Comedy Central, which unceasingly
mock Christianity and spread LGBT propaganda, and other liberal America hatred.
She is one of the most powerful people in Hollywood, an observant Jew
and a supporter of Israel, who says she’s been “reeling” since Oct. 7.
But oddly enough, Redstone still had the PC cojones to make sure
Hollywood’s Black artists were obeisant witnesses to her “grief.”
BTW, despite Redstone’s efforts, we still haven’t
heard Hollywood Blacks condemn the Hamas attack.
Ugly old hateful libtard bag
